It took no more than thirty seconds before he did hear a few different snippets of conversation as officers talked back and forth to one another. Some were informing others that theyd arrived at specific addresses. At one point, his suspicion was verified when he heard one very specific exchange.

Alright, Im at the third address, a man with a very deep southern accent said.

Which one is that? came the reply.

Ah…the seventh one on the list. Name of…

Thats Myers.

Yeah, thats the one.

The seventh one on the list…

So they did know what he was doing. It made him want to scream. All the work and time hed put into this, and it was all going to go to waste. Panic, fear, and anger all waged war within him as he held the phone tightly and listened to the radio exchanges. And just before he truly gave into despair, there was another brief exchange that caught his interestand gave him just a glimmer of hope.

Hey, dispatch, this is Stanhope. Im wondering if theres been any sort of chatter among EMTs in the last two hours about a man named Dillinger, Seth. Address is 1315 Castle Street.

Checking on that now. Hold please.

As dispatch went away, another cop chimed in on the line. Deputy Stanhope, this is Rogers. I heard that call earlier this morning. Dont know the details, but yeah. EMTs responding to a 10-52 on Castle Street. And I think the name lines up. You said Dillinger, right?

Thats right.

Dispatch got back on the line, a female voice that sounded almost robotic on the line. Deputy Stanhope, I have confirmation for you. Dillinger, Seth was removed from his home this morning and taken to the hospital. He called for the ambulance himself this morning. Seems he has a history with a liver issue. The ambulance carrying him arrived at the hospital fifteen minutes ago.

Roger that.

That was all he needed to hear. He put his phone in the passenger seat but kept the app open and running just in case anything else of note was said. He pulled out of the parking lot, trying his very best not to speed. He was about fifteen minutes away from the hospital and knew the way well. He even knew where to park and which entrance to take.
