If shed been asked a month ago if anything could happen in her life that would cause her to commit suicide, she would have said no. But now here she was, finding a way to romanticize it. The anger she still felt toward Peter for dropping the news about Grandma Tate to Paige still sat heavy on her. It hurt to admit it to herself, but she thought if there was no Paige, she might very well start considering suicide as a way out of this mess. She thought she might take a cue from Grandma Tate and do her best to live another few good months, but as the end came she would want to go out on her own terms. And honestly, jumping seemed like a halfway decent way to go.

None of this lines up with the other staged suicide cases we worked on, you know? Jacks voice tore her out of her suicidal musings and she had to backtrack her mind just to understand what hed said.

Finding three suicidal people is one thing. But finding three people that all wanted to find help to get rid of those thoughts is yet another.

Unless its just a spooky coincidence like all three of them calling the same hotline and ending up speaking to the same operator.

So then what else could they have been looking into? she wondered out loud. We could look into doctors, pharmacies where they got their meds, or we

Her phone rang, startling her. Before picking it up from the console, she looked to the display and again saw a New York area code. She answered it quickly, daring to hope there might be promising news on the other endyet also morbidly aware that promising news might end up resulting in someones death.

This is Agent Gift.

Agent Gift, this is Officer Gretchen Carlisle. Im currently rushing to High Bridge in Harlem. Weve got reports of a body hitting the water in the Harlem Bridge.

Rachel covered the mouthpiece and told Jack. Then, returning her attention to the call, she asked: How long ago?
