  39. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

The edges of my vision were blurred, the details of my setting pale and foggy.

“Lacey,” he called to me again, begging me closer. I walked to a dark hallway where his voice came from, pressing into the small dark tunnel. The bedroom door against the dark wall was closed but a deep red light glowed from the bottom. I swallowed as my heart picked up its pace.

“Come here, Lacey,” he purred and I reached up and twisted the doorknob. The room was hazy with fog that spilled into the hallway as I pushed my way in, looking for him, needing him. These dreams had been coming to me for weeks, maybe months now. I’d never tired of them—of him.

Black hands edged with claws reached out from the fog, a demon reaching for me, wanting to pull me deeper into his domain—a bedroom filled with hazy red. He was still just a dark shape of a horned man in the shadows when he cradled my face and pulled me closer. The red fog drifted away and I sighed at the sight of him—his angular face and molten eyes of lava, his muscular body nude from the waist up, his powerful arms and long fingers, his plump round lips. I knew he was a demon but he looked more like the apple than the snake. A delicious sin one couldn’t help but taste.

“Lorcan,” I murmured as he pulled me in close to him. His claws delicately pushed the hair from my face as he looked down at me, red eyes swirling as if they could hypnotize me.

Lorcan looked more demonic in the dreams—long crimson horns, black and red eyes, demonic tattoos that stretched over his body and moved as if he were made of dark magic. I imagined some djinn had crafted him to perfection, the scrolling words of the genie’s spell forever moving across Lorcan’s skin.

He had fangs in the dreams and hands that had turned black with sharpened claws. His tail wrapped around my calf, twisting to lock me in place. He also acted as if I might run if he didn’t hold me down and twist his body around mine.

Sometimes I saw the shadow of wings on his back but I could never get a good look.

Lorcan’s soft, pillowy lips pressed to mine and I leaned into his warm body as I sunk into his kiss. He pulled me deeper into the room as his kisses made me blind and dizzy—no thoughts in my head but thoughts of his touches.

His mouth left mine and I realized I was on his bed now, restrained to the posts. I tugged on my limbs but they wouldn’t budge. Lorcan crawled over my spread body and his power filled the room, a red haze of smoke that glittered and sparkled in the room. It weighed heavily on my naked skin.

My body strained, throbbing for his touch. My nipples were almost pained with the need to be touched, my core wet and wanting something, anything. I felt like the ropes holding me were twisting me with tension that might make me pop.
