“We’re here,” the driver said and I nodded.
“I’m turning in,” I responded. The men tried to contain their sighs of relief. I hopped from the car and snapped the door closed behind me. My head tipped back as I looked at the Tower of Sin. It was the most notorious and gaudy casino on the Strip. I ran my fingers down the middle of my suit jacket and looked around the busy entrance. The SUV with my men pulled away to go park the car in the garage.
Despite it being so late into the night, there was a steady crowd of sinners coming and going to my newly acquired property. Unsurprising.
It offered everything and more twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Gambling, gorging, and gorgeous scantily-clad bodies. The hotel-casino had restaurants, strippers, shops, a club, and slot machines always open for anyone who wanted to watch fun colors and spinning images while they lost their paycheck. There was even a carousel and carnival games.
Some people walked in and never came back out. Viktor had a very nice kingdom and it had cost him his life.
My tongue ran over my teeth before I snapped them together. The bone toothpick crunched in two and I spat it on the marble floor entrance as I moved inside. The sounds of a thriving casino filled the grand space—the combination of humans talking and machines throbbing incessantly. Waiters and waitresses in tight vests with plunging necklines bounced around with trays of free alcohol to everyone willing to keep gambling. Their tight shorts clung to their sashaying asses.
Such a shame for the original Viktor that this was Lacey’s favorite place. The best way to catch a leprechaun was to dangle something shiny in their face. Now that the poker club was a bust, we needed to move to the next plan.
I didn’t bother appreciating the grandness of the building. It was glittery, golden, gaudy, and everything Lacey loved. My interests weren’t in precious metals or flashy baubles. They were for supple skin, warm flesh, and wet insides. Yummy.
I wished Lacey were already here, in my room. In my grasp. I’d hold her close and enjoy her with my lips, tongue, and teeth. That thought caused a dark laugh to purr from my supple lips.
I traced my new lips with a finger as I took the elevator up to the top floor. The penthouse was very big. Viktor hadn’t lived here full time before but I had no interest in his other home. Nor did I have an interest in his girlfriends or mistresses or whatever else he had. Swiftly, I had cut all those ties. This was a new Viktor after all. I made sure to tell all his connections that the old Viktor was dead. Honesty was occasionally the best policy—especially when I found it amusing.
The elevator opened with a ding and I rolled my eyes at the man standing in the entrance, waiting for me. A massive brute who looked like a ragged motorcycle club leader. My eyes swept over his rough exterior. Weren’t we a pair—me all class and him all crass. Throw in a little ass and it would be just like old times.
