Mom: “Then see Jenny, he has made it quite clear. And do get this! Basically, he’s not interested in you. There’s no use to cry over the spilt milk. It’s better you… move on. Delhi guys are like that only. Now you have to accept this, beta. That it’s over now, and for good. Hey, its, all fine now cheer up. And let’s go and what you say, hang out together! I’ll get you your accessories. Come on, beta. Cheer up. Now go and get dressed!”

Jenny realized that her mom was trying to cheer her up and she was doing her best! And Jenny was thankful for it!

Chapter 28

Jenny was quite thankful that the last day did go. And that went quite easily. Without much pain or sorrow. And it all happened because of her mother.

Jenny was listening to the radio when all of a sudden, the song changed to— “you make me wanna..” by the band called ‘Blue’, and that reminded her of HIM that she had tried very much to forget. But the lyrics reminded her of John, and she thought they always connected because of that number. And here, she was thinking of HIM. By the way, John had complemented her and both on the same song. That made her feel so special! And so damn grieved now! Jenny was in pain. She tried to come over it. But Jenny looked into the mirror, and she gave herself a bright and confident smile. And was now, ready to let it all go…

Chapter 29

The passages of her thoughts were broken.. .all of a sudden, when her close buddy entered the room. As Julia exclaimed, “hi! Jenny! Surprise! How’re you? and to Jenny’s shock as she was so unprepared, she turned and all she could manage was just a little smile. And in return said, “Yaa…I am fine”.

This made Julia notice sudden change in her best buddy, Jenny’s behaviour. “Hey! You sound quite low-jenny. Something wrong, Jenny?” questioned Julia.

“Naaa.” Said Jenny (gathering her spirits somehow).

“Nothing, as such, dear. It’s just that I was not expecting your visit!” Jenny specified.

“Haan…so you mean… you are not happy to see me. Don’t tell me that!” Julia (laughing).

Jenny: (Regretting) hey, it’s not like that. I’m really glad that you came here. But… I mean… you know… you could have called me and asked. Hey, of course, I am happy to see you, yaar. So, how’s your job going?”

Julia: “Yaa… it’s going good. You know what? I’ve been promoted. I came to share the news with you, my dear.”

Jenny: “Yaa… (getting a little blue) how is everybody at home?”

Julia: “Yaa… They are all doing fine. Why are you sounding so boring… Is it good…”

Jenny: “So… I mean, yaa… Good. What do you expect me to do? I have a little headache, (trying to hide).

Julia: “Hey, you are getting cross… it’s okay, did you see the doctor? If not bearable, then please pay a visit to the doctor. If it’s okay.. .then better take a pill. I was just expecting… just a little ‘congratulations’.
