Her: Hi! Jenny.

Her: Hi!

Her: So! How are you?

Him: I’m good! What happened to me…? How are you…?

Her: So.rude! Me..Also fine.

Him: What rude …? Well… Now, you are finding me rude.. Anyways, how’s everybody at home…?

Her: Well. If somebody’s rude. I don’t think I am wrong.

HIM: Anyways, I have an exam tomorrow! So you have to finish… Quick

Her: We’ll then… I think you are not getting time for me.

Him: Jenny, dear, try to understand. If I don’t score well…in my third syms then how will I get through in my fourth syms, then the placements? And I know your dad needs a wealthy guy. I’m doing all this for you… dear. You myJenny!

Her: But… You are not giving me time!

Him: Sacrifice… Jenny!

Her: All for me! That’s kind of smart! Not for you and your dad!

Him: Of course, for me and my family… And for you as well dear. It’s understood. Now you’re sounding… like a kid! You know Jenny. Don’t mind. I think sometimes..well, its your nature or something… You need me all the time. You know… like hell! I remember. That day there were like 30 missed calls! Right?

Her: (Recalling and embarrassed, smiling) yaa…

Him: So, that’s kiddish. Now, let me get back to my studies.

Her: Ya… ok, one last thing.

Him: Now what…?

Her: Good luck!

Him: Yaa… thanks.

Her: Okay… good night.

Him: Yaa… good night and bye!

Chapter 23

Well, that was a different day for John. Or maybe John was behaving in a different way. Perhaps, the time had come for things to change, for good.

A week had passed by and nobody had contacted… finally Jenny gave up…

Her: Hey! Hi John! How are you?’

Him: Hi! Me fine… You?

Her: I’m also fine. It’s been long, dear?

Him: Yaa… so?

Her: how were your exams…

Him: Yaa…they were okay… as for the preparations but..okay 70 per cent. I’d say.

Her: Hey, that’s a decent score.

Him: Yaa… fine so what’s up… at your end?

Her: Everything fine? Anything new..?

Him: Well… Nothing… just got home now. Yes, something is worth mentioning.

Her: Yaa… Tell me.

Him: You know… Jenny, I started going to church reading the Bible maybe it’s because of my friend Tom. If you remember, he is Tom, and my other friend Rahul, they supported me to get out of that Muslim girl break up. You know Jenny, I was so depressed.

Her: Yaa… you told me.

Him: They really helped me, dear. And I believe in them. And these days church gives me peace. You know what! On Sundays especially. There is this huge ground where people of all age-group, mostly elderly listen to the pastor. And whatever pastor says is like… so serene and so true.. You know father. He reads it from the holy Bible and does explain them in details, to all. And in the end, there is this questionnaire session… When the audiences’ problem are solved individually, if they get lucky! It’s really peaceful and serene… and yes, there is also a chapel… as well!
