Chapter 25

That day Jenny was quite happy. Reason…

Well, nothing specific.

Maybe that day went well… Things were in place until now…

When her phone rang.

Part-17

Him: Hello

Her: Hi! John! How are you, baby?

Him: Well, I am not fine.

Her: What happened? Are you not feeling well…

Him: I’m alright.

Her: Then… anything serious?

Him: Yes.

Her: What? Tell me…

Him: Hey Jenny, don’t get mad and listen to what I say. Seriously.

Her: Yes…

Him: Jenny… I don’t want to hurt you… I know that you are quite emotional.

Her: Can’t you be more… direct?

Him: Yaa… See jenny, last night… I was… I cried a lot.

Her: But…why?

Him: See… well… 1 went to church yesterday… You know… That’s my Sunday routine.

Her: Haan…

Him: So, I talked to the Pastor Jenny… Since past few days… I am sad, upset and a bit unhappy.

Her: What is the reason..?

Him: (Jenny., getting worried) about us… our relationship.

Her: What? (in shock) what are you saying, John? But why didn’t you share with me… before?

Him: See Jenny, even I cried… last night. I was damn broken… I talked to the Pastor. I told him about our relationship. See, we fight more… And talk less (getting upset) hmnn.

Her: Yaa… what do you wanna say?

Him: And you know.. I’ve told you that you are too kiddish and we don’t get along. So, I can’t be with you all the time. And worse… (John getting more… direct) I am not satisfied with this relationship. And I don’t see our future.

Her: so… say it directly naa… John, you want to end this…(crying on the phone).

Him: Don’t cry dear… but it’s not for our good. See, the pastor said, it’s not God’s will. And you know. When that girl left me–I tried to commit suicide. I can understand your situation. But you are very strong, jenny. In the end, God does for our best..dear.

Her: Yaa…but what about…I mean (in shock) the commitments that you had made..? Damn wedding…?

Him: It will… take time, but Jenny, I want to end, this.

Her: Oh God! (Give me courage for this day!) no… John please don’t. July… three months! We’ve come a long way John, now don’t.

Him: It was nice meeting you… Jenny! Have a brilliant life, ahead…

Her: But… John listen…

(Phone goes…off).

Tring-tring!

Her: Hmmmnn…

Him: Hey, Jenny… Listen.

Her: Now, what’s left now, to say?

Him: Can we be friends? I like to talk to you, please?

Her: (Hurt) you know what? You’ve hurted me enough for the day…

Him: I know Jenny! I’m really sorry. But… This is for our own good.

Her: What friends?

Him: Yaa… we know each other. We can continue to be good friends.

Her: Well, now I don’t think so! I’ve to sleep now… and you know it’s really bad for my health. Goodbye John!

Him: ….

Phone hangs up.

The breakup.

Chapter 26

It was one night when Jenny couldn’t sleep. A restless night. She tried hard… but failed. Jenny was a deep sleeper. Well, an eight-nine hour good sleep, as she quoted. But it was all so terrible for her! Twisting and turning from one side to another. When just those horrendous and poisonous words kept on hovering her mind, over and over again. Those six words. From the magical,“listen Jenny I… I love you” to the hellish! “I want to end this relationship.”
