“I answered her questions, and she promised me I’d be taken care of. All I’ve had is a sandwich.”
“Bad behavior isn’t rewarded, Clover.” I tell her, picking up an invisible piece of lint from my pants.
“I didn’t do anything!”
“You tried to sacrifice Blair. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. It’s apparent you’re very much on a need to know basis.”
“God, why did I sleep with him? It wasn’t even worth it. Just help me get out of here. My coven is strong. Whatever you want, we can give it to you.”
I tsk at her and stand from the bed. I’m not sure what the Hell she’s talking about but that’s not the point. “The monthly rituals before you tried to kill her. Were you draining her?”
“I’m not telling you shit.”
I’m so fast she doesn’t see me coming as my hand wraps around her throat and I push her head back hard against the headboard. I can feel my power radiating off of me and it only takes her a moment to realize it as well. Stevie is quiet in the corner, patiently observing.
“I’d think really fucking hard about what comes out of your mouth next, Clover. There are far worse things than dying. Did you know that? I’ve got plenty of friends in Hell who are bored out of their fucking mind. They would be so excited to have a little play thing like you. Plain, simple, and most of all, stupid as fuck. I’d consider collecting whatever remaining brain cells you have tumbling in that small little head of yours and answer my fucking questions. Do you understand?” I give her throat a tight little squeeze before releasing her and she nods her head as tears leak from her eyes.
“We were just taking a little of her power. Blair is different. Our coven, we gather our power from the earth. Once Blair was born, everything changed. We couldn’t recharge the same. It’s like our coven was solely tied to Blair. Most of the elders have been looking for a way to change that. So we used to do the rituals and everyone was happy. But when the possibility of not having our power tied to Blair came up, the coven took it. I’m sorry! Okay, please don’t hurt me.”
“I don’t know what plans Blair has for you. But let me make one fucking thing clear. You attempt to hurt Blair again, you get a whiff of someone wanting to hurt Blair and don’t tell me, you’re done.”
She gulps and cries as she nods her head. I look over in the corner and Stevie is smiling wickedly. Not such a sweet witch after all. Stevie conjures a speaker and pulls her phone out of her pocket.
