I don’t immediately answer and groan as I turn around. Dax is holding the dark object I specifically told Beelzebub to get for me. That incompetent, worthless rodent.

“Blair?” he repeats.

“Blair can’t come to the phone right now,” I reply. “She’s going to be my best friend, though. So unless you plan on stabbing me with that blade and hurting your precious little witch, I suggest that you back off and let me leave here peacefully. I promise to take good care of her,” I say, rubbing my hands against my new body.

“You’re coming with me,” he says, taking a step forward.

“I’m not coming with you unless you’ve changed your mind and would like to go back to having fun. I can be more like Blair if that’s what you need, I promise.”

“Fuck, let Blair go!” he says.

“No, she’s mine, and she’s perfect. My new best friend is going to be really mad if I hurt you. So I think you should leave.”

“Blair, babe, can you hear me?”

“I told you she’s not home!”

Dax! Stab her!

“Blair, how can you say such a thing?”

“What is she saying to you?” he asks me.

“None of your business.”

Dax! Portal her to Hell.

“Blair, you’re really not being a good friend right now,” I tell her.

“Blair, tell me. Come back to me,” Dax pleads.

The words fall out of my mouth, Blair pushing heavily against my mental walls. “Stab her.”

Dax looks pained as he raises his arm, the blade shiny in his hand. But he doesn’t stab me in the heart, the only place that would send me to Hell. He stabs me in a blowing spot in the gut. Knocking the wind out of me. I pant heavily as a pop noise around me makes my ears ring. He grabs my arm roughly as he portals me to Hell.

Chapter 30

Never in my wildest fucking dreams would I have ever imagined portaling directly to Lucifer’s private quarters. I’d been here one time, for when he made my body corporeal, that’s the only reason I’m able to visualize taking us here.

His room is lavish and dark, black satin sheets cover a four poster California king sized bed. The walls have lavish filigree wallpaper in black velvet. Half of the room is glamoured to the point that I can’t make out what else is in the room. The fireplace crackles and garners my attention and there’s where I see Lucifer sitting on a large wingback chair, with a just as shocked Lilith on his lap.
