The wound on Blair’s stomach is deep and blood is covering my shaking hands. As we forcibly land on the deep, rich burgundy carpet. My gaze travels between her body and where Lilith’s blonde ponytail is released from Lucifer’s hand and she startles off of his lap, pulling her shirt up to cover her breasts. My focus is too set on Blair to worry about Lucifer fucking his assistant.
I can only hope that I can beg him to let me heal Blair once he ejects Mara from her body. I would do anything, give anything to make sure she’s okay. That I can fix what I did. I know that I wouldn’t have been able to get the upper hand if I didn’t wound Mara, but it doesn’t make me feel any better. I hurt Blair, when I told her I never would.
“What is this?” Lucifer stands and strides towards where I’m crouched on the floor cradling Blair’s body. “Why have you brought my daughter to Hell, Daxaddon?”
“Mara is your daughter?”
His brows furrow, and he gets down on his knees. He strokes Blair’s face affectionately. “They both are,” he says. “Lilith, love. Fetch Milcom for me.”
“Yes, sir,” she says. Putting more clothes on before she portals out of the room.
“You have to save her,” I say.
“I will save them both,” he says, looking up at me, confused. “How do you know my daughter?” he asks.
Of all the women I could have found, of course, it was the boss’s daughter. “We’re involved romantically. I care for her very much,” I say. He looks me up and down before he stands and grabs a blade from the dresser. I’d be lying if I didn’t think he was going to destroy my soul right here and now.
He surprises me by cutting his wrist slightly and dripping a few drops of blood onto Blair’s wound. It doesn’t take long for it to close up, and I imagine it will heal from the inside. I test the skin, touching it lightly with my thumb as I watch the skin graft itself.
“Who stabbed her?” he asks, his tone menacing.
“I did,” I say.
“You did what?” He is nearly shouting now, still crouched next to Blair’s body.
“She told me to. She wanted Mara out of her.”
He clicks his tongue. “The situation with Mara is unfortunate. We will need to coax her out gently so she doesn’t injure Blair.”
“How do you plan on doing that?”
“Worry not of my plans, Daxaddon. I have half the mind to rip your soul apart and set your corporeal body on fire in front of all of Hell to witness.”
