Turning around, Addison saw Joanna leaning against the doorjamb with her arms crossed and a hint of naughtiness in her eyes.
“You like?” Joanna said, all the while knowing, by Addison’s expression, that she did.
“I can hardly wait to try it out,” Addison said, ambling over to where Joanna stood. “Care to join me?”
A sexy chuckle slipped from Joanna’s lips, but instead of walking into Addison’s outstretched arms, she took a step backward. “Not until you see the wardrobe. Then I’m all yours.”
Addison was thrilled with all she had seen so far, but ever since setting eyes on the bed, her concentration had wavered. The flutters of awareness between her legs had quieted while she had admired the rest of the master suite, but once Addison saw the shower, she was a goner. Her mind flooded with visions less than chaste while something else began to flood her knickers. Upon hearing Joanna’s suggestion, Addison couldn’t help but groan. “Seriously,” she said, taking a step in Joanna’s direction. “I haven’t seen you in over a week. Can’t the bloody wardrobe wait?”
Joanna’s pout told Addison all she needed to know. Her future was going to include many arguments lost to just a look. “Fine,” she said as she walked past Joanna. “But remember what you said. One more room and you’re mine.”
Pleased that a simple change of expressions had worked so well, Joanna practically skipped as she followed Addison to the wardrobe. Watching as she walked inside, Joanna waited for a moment before doing the same.
Again, Joanna had chosen the modern route, and a new white laminate modular closet system now lined both walls. Compartments and drawers of all shapes and sizes allowed more than enough space for Addison’s suits, shirts, and ties, and along the bottom were shelves angled to hold all the footwear Addison owned and then some.
The runner covering the center of floor matched the carpet in the bedroom, but offsetting the starkness of the cabinetry, the walls had been painted a foggy gray. Two upholstered benches sat centered in the long narrow room, and in place of the boring globular white ceiling fixtures that once existed, miniature chandeliers had been hung, their pendants just as bright as the ones in the bedroom. The finishing touch was floor to ceiling mirrors now covering the walls at both ends of the room, guaranteeing if a speck of lint existed on a piece of clothing, it would be seen.
Joanna knew by Addison’s reaction to the other two rooms, she was happy with the changes, but since they had walked into the wardrobe, Addison hadn’t said a word. Joanna waited and waited and waited, until she finally blurted, “Well, do you like it?”
“No, not really,” Addison said, turning around. “It seems something’s missing.”
