  56. Don't miss out!

Ethan was much more than Gretchen could have ever asked for, and what was even better was the fact that she loved him as well. She loved every second she got to spend with him and she looked forward to every second they would eventually get to spend together. She loved Ellie as well and to think in a few hours, she would be Ellie's mother! She couldn't help the tears that welled up in her eyes; she didn't deserve any of this, yet, here she stood, about to walk into her future.

“You look amazing! I definitely outdid myself!” Sue squealed as she stood beside her, wearing a purple bridesmaid gown. Gretchen had needed someone to help carry the train of her extremely long dress, and considering the fact that Grace couldn't make the trip to London, she had asked Sue to do the honors.

“You did.” She returned Sue's smile.

Her fingers clutched tightly to her bouquet, a soft sigh escaping her lips. She turned around slowly to face the maids who had helped her get ready. Numbering six, they all stared at her, a smile on each face. Ellie, who was dressed in an equally white dress with a pink bow in front, sat comfortably on the hip of one of the maids.

“You are all dismissed; I will see you all at the Cathedral.” She said, motioning for them to leave the room.

Ethan had chosen to get married in the same Cathedral his parents had been wed thirty five years ago. If it was anything like some of the Cathedral buildings she had seen, then she was about to have a grand wedding.

They opened the door to leave the room, the sound of angry voices somewhere in the building immediately filtering back to them.

Confused, she paused in her tracks and listened to try to make out the source of the noise. After a few seconds, she recognized Ethan's voice. Why was he yelling? She tried to make out what Ethan was saying but she couldn't.

A loud crashing sound reverberated through the walls of the building, causing Ellie to jolt in fear. Frightened, Ellie began to cry.

She retrieved the child who was now hysterical, from the confused maid and dismissed the maid, before making her way toward the source of the noise; Ethan's bedroom.

“I HAVE MY ORDERS, LORD Williams,” The strange man answered calmly, his eyes warning Ethan.

“Get off of my property!” Ethan yelled for the umpteenth time that morning.

“Not without the child. The court orders that the child shall be returned to the custody of the mother who was unjustly separated from her child...”

Ethan reached for the one pair of his shoes that sat on top of the table and hurled it against the six foot tall mirror, the impact causing the mirror to shatter into many shards while creating a loud sound. He wanted to take a piece of that broken shard and run it through the brunette female who just stood silently beside the man, her eyes beholding him in mockery.
