“I agree with that guy.” Blaine’s voice sounded before Tobias saw him cutting through the crowd with Tank, Baz, Maverick, Gunner, Zeke, and Zander on his heels. They flanked Tobias in their black leather vests, cold eyes set on the three assholes. “I believe the man told you to back the fuck up.”
Tobias was shocked, but he didn’t let it show. He didn’t need to be saved, but damn, to be on this side of the intimidation was a fucking rush. Almost as much of a rush as stepping into the ring.
Tank, a mountainous, intimidating beast when he wasn’t angry, stepped forward, cold dark eyes locked on Bandanna, muscles bulging, baring his teeth as he seethed, “This is my family’s bar. You either sit down and shut your mouth, or get the fuck out of here.”
Eyes locked on Tobias, Bandanna fumed, “This isn’t over.”
“You’re even dumber than you look.” Like a grizzly picking up its prey, Tank grabbed him by the collar, lifted him off his feet, and pushed through the crowd with the asshole dangling above the floor.
Tobias and Blaine charged forward, pushing the guy’s buddies toward the door, with Madigan’s other brothers and cousins on their heels. The three blondes followed their men out the door, calling Tobias and the Wickeds pricks. Tobias stood with Blaine and Tank on the deck outside the door with the rest of the guys behind them, watching the troublemakers drive out of the parking lot.
“Well, that was fun. Let’s go,” Tank said, and he and the other guys headed down the steps toward the parking lot, with the exception of Blaine, whose serious eyes were trained on Tobias.
Tobias realized that Blaine might have thought he was causing trouble, too, and said, “Sorry about that. But you didn’t need to step in. I would have walked out before I caused a scene in your family’s bar.”
“I believe you would, but that’s not how we roll. Nobody rides alone in this family, and you’re with my sister, which means we’ll have your back even when you don’t need it.”
It took a moment for Tobias to process that, and the emotions it stirred, but he knew an olive branch when he saw one and didn’t take too much time thinking about it. “I appreciate that. Can I buy you a beer?”
“Nah, you’re coming with us.” Blaine took his arm, leading him to the stairs.
Tobias stilled at the top of the steps as motorcycle engines roared to life. Even though Blaine had talked about having his back, he wasn’t going to blindly follow him. “Where?”
For the first time, Blaine cracked a grin. “We’re crashing the baby shower.”
Tobias raked a hand through his hair, shaking his head in disbelief and amusement. “You sure you want me there?”
