Hector nodded then leaned forward as well. “I know that you can find out. If Rhodes was here with Gracelia, then he knows you. She wasn’t here to only take from me, Cain, and you need to remember who helped you when you asked.”
“I’ve returned that favor more than once, and there are nicer ways to ask.” She softened the reprimand with a slight smile, but this guy was good at pushing buttons. “Let me see what I can find, and I give you my word that I’ll share whatever I discover with you. Now, if there’s nothing else, I have a few things I have to attend to.”
“I am grateful, and you will not be sorry to work with me.”
She waited until the doors closed again and sighed as she headed for her office. “Are you ready?” she asked Finley.
“I got everything you asked for, and all you need to do is your part,” Finley said as her brother Neil sat next to her. He seemed to be enjoying working with her.
“How much time do you need?” she asked as she glanced over the paperwork Muriel had left her. When she was done, it went into the shredder. Later one of the guys would put it all in the incinerator they’d installed outside. There’d never be a room full of feds taping all this shit back together.
“We can do everything in twenty minutes.” Finley glanced at her phone when it buzzed. “Have Lou call when you’re ready. Neil, Shaun, and I will get in and out.”
“No trace, Fin, that’s important.”
“I know what you want, and we’ll get it done.” Fin glanced at her phone and smiled.
“Do you need to go?” She’d kept up with Fin’s career from a distance, but she seemed happier and more settled now that she’d come home with Abigail and her children.
“The kids started at their new school today, so Abigail was giving me an update. Victoria is thrilled her buddy was waiting for her, and they’re all looking forward to tomorrow.”
“Get going and be ready around eight. You got a burner?”
“I’ve got everything and won’t let you down. Is Delarosa going to be a problem?” Fin had a complete bird’s-eye view of her business and had filled in some holes even her old tech guy had missed before Gracelia had him killed.
“Hector is more of a pain than a problem. His main issue is not knowing the meaning of no, but someone has done a number on him. Our issue is going to be getting caught in the middle of the war this is going to start. The one good thing is we might get some answers out of all this.” She drummed her fingers in an uneven pattern and thought about all the moves they had to make. “Anything on Nicola?”
