“Uh-huh.” The feel of Cain’s finger going under the side of her underwear made her bite her bottom lip. “Honey, you’re hurt.”
“But I’m not the one in pain, am I?” Cain said. “Take them off, and I promise I won’t use my arms.”
She got naked, lay down, and spread her legs. “Don’t hurt yourself.”
“I’m a professional—I know what I’m doing.” As Cain lowered her head, the phone rang.
“Fuck me,” Emma said louder than she meant.
“That’s a given, lass, but give me a minute.” Cain rolled off the bed carefully and reached for the phone. “Is the house on fire?”
The question made Emma laugh, but it died in her throat when Cain put her hand between her legs and flicked over her hard clit.
“Not nice, mobster.”
Cain smiled and concentrated on the call. “Drive it in and park it in the garage. Check her pockets for a key card, and let’s hope the name of the place is on it.” Cain hung up and finished taking her pants and underwear off. “Now, where was I?”
“Right here.” Emma reached down and spread herself open. The craving had definitely not died.
“My favorite place to be, lass.” Cain put her mouth on her, and it didn’t take much to reach the peak she loved. Cain came up and kissed her, and she could taste herself on Cain’s lips. “Sleep now. Tomorrow will be soon enough to talk about what I have planned.”
“Are you sure?” She yawned and gave Cain a sleepy smile.
“Unlike some of the people lined up against us, we have all the time in the world. Don’t worry, I’ll be here in the morning—every morning.”
“As happy as I was for Remi and Dallas today, I’m happier for me. Thanks for loving me.”
“It’s hard not to after you’ve put this ring through my nose and tattooed your name on my ass.” Cain pulled her close.
“You’re lucky I love you.” She put her head on Cain’s shoulder and covered them both.
“That I am. That I am.”
Chapter Twenty-six
The next morning Cain got dressed and waited for Emma to finish with Billy. She held up Emma’s coat and helped her into the car that Lou had pulled to the front. They were going for a drive alone, but their destination was well covered from both sides of the chasm. For every FBI agent around the spot she’d picked, she’d placed two of her people. She’d had enough stitches in this lifetime.
“We haven’t been here in ages,” Emma said as they walked into the Golf Club Restaurant in Audubon Park. The large wraparound porch was almost empty, with most of the diners eating inside because of the cold.
