- About the Author
As Griffin grinned at me, I grabbed the bottle and took a long draw, filling my cheeks. Since I frequently had sex with Kiera, I felt like the drink should be a big one. After I set down the bottle, Griffin grabbed it. His eyes on me the entire time, he started to make like he was going to take a drink too. What the fuck? The image of him having sex with Kiera was so disturbing, I nearly spat out the liquid in my mouth. It partially went down the wrong pipe as I harshly swallowed instead, and I started coughing. It fucking burned.
Griffin was laughing as he set down the bottle. Dying laughing. “Oh my God, Kellan…your face, dude.”
I just about socked him, but…two could play at this game. “Never have I ever had sex with Anna,” I said, then I grabbed the bottle and started swallowing a mouthful before he could stop me. He was right…the look on his face was priceless, and I felt a million times better. Maybe this was actually what I needed right now. Another mental reprieve.
Satisfied smile on my face, I set down the bottle and suggestively raised my eyebrows. Griffin was staring at me, openmouthed. “No, you didn’t.” I just sat there smiling, letting his mind stew. “No, you fucking didn’t!” he said again, louder. Grinning, I shrugged. His face clouded over. “When?” he demanded.
I couldn’t hold onto it, and I started laughing. His pale eyes narrowed once he figured out I was just joking. He took a quick swig for his answer, then he shoved the bottle in my face, spilling some. “Take a penalty drink, fucker.” I did as he commanded, and his furious eyes narrowed even more. “You fucking lie again, and you’re finishing the whole fucking bottle, got it?”
With a laugh, I nodded. Oh God…sometimes Griffin was exactly the distraction I needed.
It didn’t take long for me to remember why I shouldn’t play that game. Especially with Griffin. The person speaking was supposed to say something they hadn’t done, but Griffin was both competitive and a braggart. He started saying everything he had done, just to see if I’d done it too. Unfortunately, I had done way too many things that he’d done, and as a result, we were both plastered long before the bus stopped for the night. Thankfully, our show was the following night, and we had the evening at a hotel to crash and recover. Or try to.
I let out a loud groan after getting off the phone with Kiera. I hadn’t told her about the day drinking, and I’d hid my hangover from her; I didn’t want her to think getting drunk was the norm for me now. I’d just needed another break, but now I was seriously regretting it.
