- About the Author
I nodded at them and watched them walk over to the first bus and get inside. Then I looked down at Kiera with an eyebrow raised. “You couldn’t think of one song, could you?” She sighed and shrugged. While the embarrassment was cute, the fawning over another rock star was a little bit of an irritant, to be honest. At least I didn’t have to worry about Justin; he was coming with me. “I’m not sure how I feel about another man making you so nervous,” I told her. Slipping my arms around her, I added, “I want to be the one that makes you sweat.”
She took my comment literally, not suggestively, as I’d meant it. “Oh my God, was I sweaty?”
Squatting down to look her in the eye, I gave her a playful, yet sort of serious scowl. She laughed, then wrapped her arms around my neck. “I am your biggest fan, Kellan Kyle.” Leaning up, she gave me a soft kiss. “And don’t you forget it.”
Her comment warmed me, as did her mouth attaching to mine. Between our kiss, I murmured, “Well, I do aim to please the fans.” Then I brushed my tongue along hers. She smacked me for my comment, and I laughed and pulled her into me. I just needed a minute to revel in her softness, her sweetness, her taste, her smell, her feel…all of it. Kiera tangled her fingers in my hair, sending bolts of electricity through my body, and our tender kiss quickly grew heated and hungry.
Just as I was wondering if I had time to lay her down on my backseat, my shoulder was tapped on. “Uh, man, it’s time to go.”
We broke apart and I saw Evan and Jenny standing there. Both of them looked pained, teary. Matt and Rachel were behind them, saying their tender goodbyes. Anna and Griffin were deep down each other’s throats…also saying goodbye. Everyone was saying goodbye…fuck, this was it. My chest squeezed so hard, I cringed with the pain of it. Like Evan had seen it, he reached down and grabbed my bag for me, giving me more time. God, I owed him for that.
Evan gave Kiera a quick hug, then he started walking with Jenny toward bus three, our bus. Swallowing the knot of sorrow in my throat, I looked back at Kiera. Her eyes were wide, and she was trembling again. But not for Justin this time. Gently grabbing her cheeks, I gazed at her, memorizing her. I don’t want to go…but I have to.
