“Maybe a little.” I grinned up at him to let him know I was teasing before kissing him again and grabbing his ass with both hands.
When I turned to head downstairs, he said, “When you get back, I’m going to make love to you for days. We’ll only stop for food.”
I looked over my shoulder at him, raised my eyebrows and said, “Can’t wait.”
Court was already up and in the kitchen. She seemed to know where I was going, and I found that a little odd. Had they discussed sending me away for a little while? When she finger-waved at me and told me to ‘have fun,’ I knew that something was up. I couldn’t imagine why they wanted to get rid of me, but I decided not to worry about it, and instead try to make the best of it. I knew they both had my best interest at heart.
I didn’t enjoy having Sam dump me off at the resort like he would a kid at summer camp, but I had to admit, the place was amazing. My room was more luxurious than anywhere I had ever stayed before. It made me wonder how much this little get-away was costing.
When I waddled down for my first pre-natal yoga class, I met a new partner in crime. Her name was Aimee, and she was hugely pregnant. We stayed at the back of the classroom and huffed and puffed our way through a few yoga poses before plopping down on our mats to rest.
Finally, she leaned over and whispered to me, “Instead of sitting here, pretending like we’re going to do anything more in this class, let’s head over to the juice bar and get a smoothie.”
“We can do that?” I asked her. My agenda for the day had said that I was to attend yoga class at this time. It had never crossed my mind that I didn’t have to obey it.
“Oh honey,” Aimee smiled at me, “stick with me. I know all the tricks.”
We got up from the floor as quietly as two largely pregnant women could, which of course meant with lots of heaving and groans as we hefted ourselves up. When the yoga instructor looked back at us like she might say something, Aimee waved at her and said, “Potty break.”
When the leader nodded her approval, we scurried out the back of the classroom, giggling like a couple of high school kids cutting class. We became fast friends after that, and I spent the rest of my time at the spa hanging out with her. She knew all of the ins-and-outs of the facility and even finagled a pizza delivery for us, so we didn’t have to eat the ‘rabbit food’ they served.
