Chapters (41)
Suddenly, there was a loud crashing sound from downstairs. My legs flopped back down as I forgot my restraints and tried to bolt upright in surprise. I didn’t make it far and fell back on the bed when the scarves tightened on my arms.
“Is everything okay?” I yelled to Sam.
“Yep.” His response was incredibly vague. I wanted to know what had happened. I wanted to go downstairs. What the hell had I been thinking when I let him tie me up and leave me?
I strained my ears, trying to hear what was going on. It seemed like I waited an eternity, but it was probably only a few seconds. At first, all I could hear was my own breathing. After a while, I could make out something, but I wasn’t quite sure what. Is it voices? Is someone else here? My mind panicked. I did not want anyone else to see me in this state of bondage.
I heard footsteps on the stairs. My eyes about popped out of my head when I heard Courtney yelling into my room from the hallway. “I have a little bit of a headache, so I came home from work early. I’ll be closed in my room with the fan on, so I won’t hear anything.”
Did she snicker? Does she know I’m naked and tied up in here? Did she see Sam in the buff downstairs? I tried to make my voice normal, but it came out high-pitched and squeaky. “Okay. I hope you feel better. Night.”
“Goodnight.” It was only a one-word response, but it was filled with innuendo. I did not know how I would be able to face her tomorrow.
It was quiet for a while after Court closed her door. Then I heard Sam coming up the steps. When he rounded the corner into my room, I saw that he had donned my red “Kiss the Cook” apron. It looked ridiculous because it was barely covering his danglies and left him bare-assed naked in the back. I wondered if this was how Court found him when she got home. It would certainly explain her amusement.
He kicked my bedroom door shut before carrying a serving tray over and setting it down on the bed beside me. I had been wondering what he was whipping up because I knew that our cupboards were pretty much empty. When I saw what he had brought, I was more than a little thrilled. If I had been making myself a snack, I couldn’t come up with anything that I would like better than what he had made.
