Appendix 3. Apparel in Fantasy

We are concerned here with remarks on costumes for the female in the fantasies. She is, in my opinion, the star of these enactments. Women can be endlessly inventive in these matters, and details are best left to them. They can design costumes that are sensuous dreams.

A few observations are, however, perhaps in order.

There are many items commercially available, which are fantastically sensuous. Consider, for example, the range of female nightwear, from white, classic garments which, with barbaric armlets, etc., will transform her into a pagan queen, to brief, sleeveless gowns of red silk that might have been designed by male chauvinists to set off their harems of captured women’s libbers, now their slave girls. With the short gowns, of course, the woman is not permitted to wear the panties. They are a cop-out, making the shortness of the gown meaningless. I like to see plenty of leg in my own slave girl. Moreover, she must move with exquisite care or she will expose more than her lovely legs.

Belly dancer and slave girl costumes are commercially available. Veils, too; bells, finger cymbals, etc.

Female undergarments are also possibilities. Brassieres and panties are obvious choices. It is assumed, of course, that they constitute, normally, the entire costume. Such items come in colors and patterns. Some have animal patterns, e.g., leopard. If you are capturing a “Sheena of the Jungle,” or something, and turning her into a harem slave, she might, orginally, be so clad. On the other hand, if you are capturing an English lady aristocrat, circa 1840, and taking her to the jungle as your slave, you might give her such garments to wear. (Presumably you have killed the animals, etc.) Dyes can alter colors, of course. A white brassiere dyed slave scarlet can be exciting. Perhaps you do not immediately strip your capture but permit her, behind a screen, to exchange her civilized apparel for that of a barbarian’s slave girl. She then steps forth, in fury, proud, for your inspection. Wow! (There are varieties of foundation garments with possibilities. Also, of course, they may be altered, e.g., beaded, fringed, etc. (Ankle bells, incidentally, can be sexy; the master knows where his wench is; she cannot surprise him; and, as she moves in love, the bells are exciting.)

Swim wear is less appropriate, though a bikini that ties, and is easily removable, is good. A brief terry cloth cover-up, with absolutely nothing under it, is delightful. Generally, however, swim wear is less easy to remove, and the girl is less available in it than in other garments. It, too, is usually too heavy. Diaphanous silk, half parted, brief, clinging, beats a bathing suit any day.
