She is placed in a sack, bound or not, and the sack is tied, or belted, or snapped, or padlocked, shut. She may be entered into the sack either feet or head first. Make certain that there is adequate air. Make certain, too, that if the sack is moved, she is not injured. Be particularly careful to avoid stresses to the neck. A sack may be dragged along the floor; it may be lifted in the arms; it may be, under no circumstances, dropped on the floor; it may, however, be thrown on a bed. A rug may also be used, tied at four places. A variation, of course, would be to shut her in a trunk, padlocking it shut at both ends. (Holes should be drilled, for adequate ventilation.) It may also be pretended that under the bed is a low-ceilinged, flat slave cell, perhaps even under your bed. When she is released, she perhaps dances, and then, when permitted, crawls humbly into the bed. Perhaps she kneels first at the foot of the bed and lifts the sheet, kissing it, and only then, with your permission, is, head down, given the privilege of your couch. An interesting version of the sack tie has the sack drawn over her head and about her hips, which is as far as it goes. Then the stout cords of the sack are tied under her body, holding the sack on her. (Her hands may be bound behind her back before the sack is drawn over her head.) She is thus much at your mercy. A blanket, similarly, may be thrown over her head and, by means of a belt, tied about her belly. (This variation is based on an American Indian technique for keeping a white slave woman quiet. When the slave cannot see, she tends to become docile. This technique is also effective, I gather, with horses.)
