“I don’t want to think about it right now,” I say, lying back down to cuddle into his chest.
“All right, well, tomorrow we can talk to Lucifer and get our first assignment.”
I smile against his skin, and he gently kisses my hair.
The water pressure and temperature in Dax’s apartment is shit. I guess people who find themselves in Hell shouldn’t be living a life of luxury, but damn. Can’t a demon get semi-decent hot water? Both of us shower and dress quickly before I attempt to portal us to my dad’s house.
I’m standing next to Dax, our fingers interlaced, as I take a few deep breaths. “Just picture a room in the palace and will us to go there.”
I nod my head. Images floating around my mind as I finally land on a room and portal.
Wrong room. Wrong fucking room.
I portaled us to my dad’s room, sadly. It seems to have left the biggest impression. Unfortunately, my dad also has Lilith restrained and fully naked against a Saint Andrew’s Cross.
“Oh, fuck, sorry!” I say, grabbing Dax’s hand and dragging him out of the room. I’m too mortified to even look at my dad’s and Lilith’s faces.
Dax laughs once my dad’s bedroom door is shut. I smack his chest lightly. “Shut the fuck up.”
He’s nearly hunched over laughing, his hands on his knees. “You know they say kinks are hereditary.”
I glare at him and step away.
“Oh, come on, babe, you gotta admit it’s funny,” he says, following me down the hallway. I’m meaning to ditch him when I walk right into Mara.
“What’s so funny?” she asks. She seems different, a little less crazy. But she still has very strong single white female energy.
“I portaled us into dad’s room and he was, uh, having a moment with Lilith.”
“Oh, don’t feel too bad. I’ve walked in on my fair share. They’re like rabbits,” she says, and I grimace.
“How are you adapting to Hell?” I ask her, trying to make small talk and not bring up the fact that she possessed me.
“I love it here. I don’t think I ever want to leave,” she says. I give her a smile, not really knowing where to take the conversation.
“Cool, uh—”
Two footfalls alert me to my dad and Lilith walking down the hallway. No shame at all written on their face. It seems like Hell is very much more open to sexuality than Earth.
“My daughters together. Shall we all do lunch?” my dad asks. I know my cheeks are pink, but I nod my head. I look over at Lilith and she just looks happy and carefree as ever, her long blonde ponytail still in perfect condition as we walk to the formal dining room.
