- About the Author
“I’m so sure.” I stood on my tippy-toes and pulled him to me so we could continue where we left off. “Let’s go home.” Hearing his chuckle, I giggled. “You know what I meant.” I led him into the B&B, the common room empty as usual, and up the stairs. “Your room or mine?”
“Let’s do yours this time. Switch things up.”
I stopped climbing and turned to face him. With my lips pursed and arms folded across my chest, I said, “Are we already at the stage of our relationship where we need to spice things up?” Out of habit, I instinctively second-guessed my use of the word “relationship.” But I didn’t take it back. We were in a relationship, or at least on our way to one.
“Not even close, but I hope we get there someday.” He winked. “Hashtag relationship goals.”
My mouth broadened to a smile. “I’ve never been so turned on in my life.” I grabbed his hand and we raced to my room at the end of the hallway.
Not bothering to turn on the lights, we undressed slowly. Our hands were everywhere as if we couldn’t decide what to touch first. Kissing paused only to kick off a shoe, shrug off a pant leg, unclasp a bra. I placed my lips on a freckle on his now bare shoulder. “It’s like strip poker without the poker.”
He chuckled. “I’m wild for you, Adina Gellar.” He pushed me gently onto the bed and knelt between my legs.
“I’m wild for you too, Finn Adams” is what I thought I said, though it was hard to be sure. He was now doing all sorts of exquisite things with his mouth and fingers. Speaking was tough, what with all the writhing and panting. When I was almost there, my legs shaking, I lifted my head slightly off the pillow. “Condom?”
He paused. “I desperately want to get you there this way.”
“I…I can’t.” I fisted the sheets.
“I know, and it’s been bothering me since the first time we were together. Let me try.”
“What about you? Don’t you want sweet relief?”
He brushed my inner thighs with a light touch. “Unless you plan to kick me out after you get off, there’s plenty of time for that.” His face turned serious. “Do you trust me enough to let go?”
This man, this beautiful man who was “wild for me” and had just put his faith in me to handle the toughest parts of his life, was desperate to make me come with his mouth. All I had to do was lie there and see what happened. My body trembled with the need to be touched. “I do.”
He smiled. “Thank you.”
