- Meet Melissa
“I’m not. I’ll always have time for family and friends.” I just want to lock up my brain in the evenings, so when I come home after seeing Tank and Leah and their kids, or Justin and Chloe, or Gunner and Sid, or you two, I don’t play with ideas of having that for myself.
“You know, there are other things you could do in the evenings that are more fun than building businesses,” her grandfather said.
“Grandpa, how many times do I have to tell you that I’m not looking for a relationship?”
“Who’s talking about a relationship?” her grandfather snapped. “I was thinking about taking your old grandpa out to dinner, where I can get some real dessert.”
“You really want to get me in trouble, don’t you?” Madigan teased.
They had a nice visit as she finished eating. When she finally headed out the door, she put on her helmet. Her phone vibrated with a message, and she pulled it from her pocket. Sir Broodiness appeared on the screen. Her heart skipped, and she immediately chastised herself for it, forcing herself to take a few deep breaths before reading the message.
You up for some fun?
Her resolve was no match for the tingles chasing over her skin. She glanced at her parents’ house, as if they might sense what she was up to, but the dirty promises behind Tobias’s offer quickly reeled her back in. She needed to take control of this situation so she felt less like she was at his mercy and more like the badass lady boss she was.
She thumbed out, My place your condoms. Be ready to satisfy. She pocketed her phone and climbed onto her Barbie mobile, ready to show broody Ken just how fierce a pink-lover could be.
When she pulled up to her house, Tobias was already there, leaning against his motorcycle in the driveway. His thick hair was pushed away from his face like he’d just raked a hand through it. A black T-shirt hugged his broad chest, and his powerful legs were anchored to the concrete by black leather boots. He really was beautiful, but not in the sense of being pretty. No, Tobias’s beauty was sharp and jagged, commanding attention in the same way a dangerous cliff drew spectators who inherently knew they shouldn’t get too close, but the intrigue was too much for some to resist.
That was Madigan.
She was some.
His dark eyes locked on her as she parked beside him, and her nerves caught fire, but she was determined not to let it show. She whipped off her helmet and shook out her hair, emboldened by the heat in his eyes as he drank her in. “How’d you get here so fast?”
“It’s nice to see you, too, Blue Eyes.”
