- ABOUT THE AUTHOR
“I can’t believe you did all of this,” I say, the idea of flying to Auckland tomorrow just sinking in. “I need to pack. I don’t even know what I need. What do I need, Cole?”
He chuckles and pulls me into his chest. It’s his way of calming me down, bringing me back to the moment. And I love him for it.
“You need to bring yourself, your brand-new passport, and a smile. I got the rest,” he says.
Even though that’s not true—I’m totally going to have to pack—it is partially the truth.
For so many years, it was me and Ethan against the world. I had our lives on my shoulders every single day. Now, I have a husband who loves me with every fiber of his being—rain or shine, hell or high water. He proves to me over and over again that I don’t have to carry everything anymore. He’s got the rest.
And he does.
I hope this season of my life never ends. But if it does, and it probably will, that’s perfectly okay. Cole and I have built a solid team that will face any season . . . together.
For the rest of our lives.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
First and foremost, thank you to my Creator. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to try again every day.
Writing an acknowledgments section without acknowledging the sacrifices and support my family contributes to each and every book would be ridiculous. Thank you to my wonderful husband, Saul; our four children; and our extended family. I know the dynamics of family life because of you.
A huge thank-you to the Montlake team—Alison Dasho, Anh Schluep, Jillian Cline, Patricia Callahan, Lindsey Faber, Bill Siever, and Kellie Osborne—for believing in me and this story. I’m so honored to work with you all again.
I would be remiss not to thank Tiffany Remy, Carleen Riffle, Marion Archer, Susan Rayner, Anjelica Grace, Mandi Beck, and S. L. Scott for their support, advice, and friendship throughout the writing of this book.
I have the best reader group out there! I’d like to thank Books by Adriana Locke for the endless laughs, encouragement, and fun. You are my readers, my friends, and my honorary family. Thank you for going on this ride with me.
And, last but certainly not least, thank you to each reader who chose to pick up this book. My goal was to provide you with a reprieve from daily life for a little while. I hope you enjoyed this story and walk away smiling and feeling a little lighter. I appreciate you. Thank you for giving this book a chance.
