“I wish you could come in but I have an early call tomorrow. A television commercial for a hamburger chain.” I paused, waiting for him to be impressed.
“You’re going to be a star.” He smiled. “I still think you should let me come in.”
“I will be a star. And, as I told you, I have a rule about taking it slow.” I blinked at him with my movie-star look. The convertible top was down and the sky was filled with stars. The only ones around, truth be told. I had begun to worry a bit that I was never going to make it in Hollywood. All of my supposed beauty pageant contacts had dried up or didn’t return my calls. I was broke and desperate. The gig in the morning wasn’t real, but not much is in la-la land. David and his trust fund weren’t my only option, of course, but he was by far the most attractive. That’s why I took it slow. I remember checking my watch. It was already past one in the morning. We couldn’t linger out here on “my street” much longer. I knew that from previous experience. Stupid nosy neighbors had busted me before.
I turned to him, licked my lip. “Can I see you again?”
“Yes. Although there’s still so much more of tonight.” He was persistent. He leaned forward and kissed my lips, gently at first and then with urgency, pushing his tongue inside me, tasting me, moaning. I felt his hand on my shoulder, the other on my knee. As hard as it was for me to pull away, I had to break the kiss.
“Yes. Tomorrow? Please.” I panted, turning him on even more. I had already told him at dinner I was a virgin. The kiss just sealed his fate.
“Oh, man. Tomorrow, when?”
I opened the door and hopped out before he could help me. I couldn’t let him walk me to the door, of course. I whispered, “Thank you for the best date of my life. I’ll see you tomorrow night? Could you pick me up at the club? I have to work until eight.”
“Of course. See you there. I had a great time.” He started to get out of the car. David was a gentleman when I met him. He was about to open the door when I held up my hand.
