- Owner Of A Lonely Heart
My father Michael became very unwell as I was writing Owner of a Lonely Heart, and he died just a few weeks after I finished. From the start, I knew the book was about dogs and living in the moment – it was only right at the end that I understood it was also about fathers. Dad, I miss you. And so does Tinkerbell, who misses the gourmet dog’s dinners you cooked for her.
Finally to you: thank you so much for reading this story. You can get free goodies and join my book club at www.evacarter.net or share shaggy dog stories with me on Twitter, Instagram or YouTube, where I’m @katewritesbooks – I’d love to hear from you.

How to Save a Life

‘I couldn’t put it down until I reached the final page’
Beth O’Leary, bestselling author of The Flatshare
Sometimes saving a life is only the start of the story . . . When talented footballer Joel collapses on the eve of the millennium, it’s shy student Kerry who saves his life. But life after death is no guarantee of a happy ending and her act of heroism will bind the two together before tearing them apart.
Over the next two decades, their lives – and destinies – continue to collide. They both know that their hopes for the future can change in a heartbeat yet the past won’t let them go. So what will it take for Joel and Kerry to save each other one final time?
