- About the Author
He said, “Hey, man, I thought I told you we were just gonna hang out over here at the hotel. You look good, though, I’ll give you that. You making me feel underdressed now.”
“Well, what are they wearing?” I asked him about the women.
He continued to chuckle at me. He said, “I doubt if they show up looking anything like you. You’re gonna be the star of the night.”
I laughed it off with him. But inside, I knew the girls would think I was too much. Maybe I’d create a whole conceited attitude to match. Women hated that, too. I would look the part and play the part and get dissed. I couldn’t wait. I even brought my cell phone with me to let it ring, and I planned on answering every single phone call, as if they were all important.
Corey and I sat down at the bar in the lobby area and immediately ordered drinks. After our orders were filled and we took our first sips, Corey said, “You know what I told you, right?”
I frowned at him. “What you told me about what?”
He leaned closer to me. “These girls, man, will do about anything.”
I said, “Oh, yeah,” and took another sip of my drink. He had no idea what I had in store for them. But I know one thing, it seemed like he was sitting a lot closer to me than I felt comfortable with.
When these women showed up, we were on our second and third drinks already.
“Hey, how you doin’?” Corey stood up and greeted them.
I looked them over, and they weren’t bad. In fact, they reminded me of a meatier, less attractive version of Andrea and Brazil. They were both wearing colorful skirt and dress outfits like older women who hung out in bars were prone to do. Only they weren’t that old-looking.
Corey introduced us all.
“Yeah, this is Janice and Selena, and this is my friend Terrance, the model.”
We shook hands, exchanged nods, and greeted one another before we found a four-seat table to sit in. Janice was Brazil, and Selena was Andrea. I was tripping that way, while sizing them up for the night.
“Are you coming from an earlier event or something?” Janice asked me. I could tell she was going to be the talker. I could see it in her curious face.
I said, “No, I just like to make a good impression when I meet a group of nice ladies, so I went ahead and put on my Sunday best.”
Selena grinned with double dimples and said, “Well, it ain’t Sunday.”
I figured she would have looked a lot better if her face was clearer.
I asked her, “And how old are you?”
“Old enough,” she told me.
I said, “Well, there are a few products that I could write down for you that would give you much smoother skin if you’re interested. I mean, I’m just ah, passing on some of the things I’ve learned about keeping clear and smooth skin in the fashion and modeling industry.”
