Andrea started to chuckle, forecasting where I was going with it, I’m sure.

She said, “Terrance, do you think you’re the only man who has thought some shit like that? Men are always trying to nose in on something. But our relationship is not some damn freak show. It’s a genuine, caring, and respectable relationship. And I’m offended that you’re even trying me like that.”

It didn’t sound like she was offended. She was too calm. Or maybe that was more of her new attitude. I was expecting her to flip like a typical black woman, the Andrea I used to know. Or maybe I really didn’t know her anymore.

“I’m just being honest with you,” I told her.

“Well, I hope you don’t think that means anything to me, because it doesn’t,” she said. “I don’t owe you anything, and you don’t owe me anything, so we can just leave it at that. In fact, I don’t even need to answer your phone calls anymore.”

She was being real hard-lined about it.

I told her, “That doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop thinking about it.”

“Well, we all think about things we’ll never have a chance to do. I still think about modeling.”

“And you can still do that,” I told her. “You still have the look. Who said we’ll never have a chance to do it?” I continued to tempt her.

“Terrance, that’s the farthest thing from my mind right now,” she stated. “And you would be the last person to experience something like that from us. Or maybe second to last.”

“So, you still do hold a grudge against me,” I responded. I figured her biggest grudge was now her estranged husband, Jayson Walker.

“Look, I just wouldn’t go there with you.”

“But you would with someone else? I mean, at least you know me.”

I was trying my best to break her down. For some reason the idea of a threesome no longer seemed crazy to me. At least we were talking about it.

She said, “You know what, this conversation has gone on long enough. You have a nice night.”

“Do you ever even think about me at all?” I asked her instead of hanging up.

“Why?”

“I’m just asking.”

“For what purpose?”

I know she had thought about me, she just didn’t want to admit it. She had to think about me. It was only natural. We were very close at one time.

I told her, “I miss your sexual energy, that’s why these dreams keep coming. At the same time, I guess my mind is accepting that you’re a little different now.”

“A little different now?” she asked.

“You know what I’m talking about.”

“You know what, it wasn’t even my place to tell you that,” she responded in reference to her new relationship.

“But you did, and I’m thinking that you did it for a reason. You still miss me,” I tried to convince her.

“That is hardly the case,” she told me.
