- About the Author
She went on to name-drop several supermodels, some of whom I recognized, and some I didn’t. But she was losing my interest. Name-dropping only counted with me if she was using known photographers or fashion designers.
“Just call me on Monday, and we’ll talk,” she told me. That was the right move, let the editor talk to me about their rates; everything else was just hot air.
As soon as Donjha moved on, TaShay danced over to me with an apple martini in her hand. She asked me, “What was that about? Someone hitting on you already?” she teased.
I shook my head. “Nah, she was all about business.” I showed her the business card. “She wanted all of us to model for her magazine.”
TaShay eyed me and said, “That would be fun. All of us together, huh?”
I had already thought about the possibility of a threesome with TaShay and her friend. I thought about that from the moment I talked to her on the phone earlier, but I was still trying to push the idea to the back of my mind. I didn’t want to go there.
I said, “Well, I don’t model without the bills being paid. So, I’ll just have someone call and see what they’re talking about.”
TaShay grabbed my hand and said, “We’re not here for business anyway. Let’s dance.”
She pulled me on the dance floor to a new song from Ashanti, and she and Tan sandwiched me with reckless grinding.
“You’re the envy of every man in here now,” Tan spoke into my right ear.
They started freaking me something good. That led me to believe that they had experienced it all before. They worked together too good for it to be spontaneous. They knew exactly what they were doing.
By the third hour and the fourth drink, the place was jam-packed with A-list celebrities breaking out from a back room off the main dance floor; Jamie Foxx, Shaq, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton. No wonder the prices were so high.
I mean, this place was rocking! The club was in an all-out frenzy, but I was worn out and ready to leave.
“Where are they coming from?” Tan questioned of the big stars. They weren’t up in our section.
“It must be another VIP area down there,” TaShay answered.
They both looked at me. “How do we get in there?”
That one was beyond my reach. There were VIPs, and then there were superstars. I didn’t want to embarrass myself with my ranking, so it was time to go.
I said, “Hey, let’s ask and then get on out of here. I still have a photo shoot tomorrow.”
Tan looked at me and said, “You wanna leave? It’s just getting started now.”
This girl had been getting attention all night long, and she still wanted more. I knew I couldn’t argue with her without starting a fight, so I talked to TaShay in private about it.
I said, “Look, I know you guys came to party all night and all of that, so I might just take a taxi out of here.” I knew TaShay wasn’t as starstruck as Tan was, so it was her move.
