“You keep rubbing your naked body against me, and things are going to heat up real fast.”

Her smile widened. “Put it in your pants, Sir Broodiness. I’m still coming down from my last orgasm.”

He chuckled as he dried her off and grabbed his T-shirt, shaking off the sand. As he slipped it over her head, she said, “I have clothes.”

“Leather and water don’t go well together.”

He helped her put her arms into his shirt and towel dried the rest of her, all the way down to her feet. She stepped into her thong as he spread out the blanket, then sat on it, watching him as he dried off and put on his boxer briefs and jeans. He lowered himself to the blanket and pulled her back against his chest. When his arms circled her, she melted against him with a sated sigh, and he added that sound to the growing list of things he shouldn’t want more of.

“Better?”

“Much. How did you find this place? I’ve never been here before.”

“I was cruising around, exploring the area, after work a few weeks ago, and I ended up at the dead end where you parked. I saw the overgrown path and got curious. It’s a great spot, isn’t it?”

“Yeah. Very private. Do you come here often?”

He pressed a kiss to her neck. “You sound like you’re trying to pick me up.”

“Maybe I am.” She shifted so she was sitting sideways between his legs and could see him. “So? Do you?”

“Fairly often.”

“Do you always walk down random paths?”

“If I feel like it.” He’d always craved the open road, but now he appreciated different aspects of his freedom in ways most people never thought about.

“What’s your favorite thing to do?” she asked casually.

He cocked a grin.

She leaned her shoulder into his chest. “Besides that.”

“Being out on my bike, or in a place like this, where I can hear myself think.”

“Do you like hanging out at the Salty Hog?”

“It’s a’right.”

“I’ve never seen you drink much.”

He shook his head. “I like to keep my wits about me.”

“I’ve never seen you pick up anyone there, either.”

“That’s not why I go there.”

“Why, then?”

She asked it earnestly, like she really wanted to know, so he gave her the truth. “I’m not much for attention. A place like that allows me to blend in. Take in life from the periphery. You’re there a lot. What do you like about it?”

“Everything. My aunt Ginger and uncle Conroy have owned it forever. I basically grew up there. I like that it’s laid-back, and as much as I hate being watched all the time, I like that it’s safe. Do you have more places like this where you can take me?”
