- Meet Melissa
She tiptoed out of the bedroom and headed into the kitchen. The ceramic tile was cold on her bare feet as she turned on the coffee maker and gazed out the window. Colorful leaves skated along the grass in the gusty November wind, whipping around the old truck Tobias had bought for work. She couldn’t believe it was Thanksgiving already. They had a lot to be thankful for, and on top of that list was Tobias’s reunion with his family. This would be the first holiday Tobias would celebrate with his sister in three years and with his father in far longer than that. Madigan’s parents were hosting dinner, and she was excited to bring their families together again. They’d had fun at the Dark Knights’ Trunk or Treat event on Halloween. She and Tobias had dressed up as Sandy and Danny from Grease, and Tobias had two permanent appendages—Lynnie and Rosie—and he’d loved every minute of it.
Things were going great between him and Carrie, and although things weren’t perfect with his father, they were working on it. His father seemed genuinely proud of him for the man he’d become, and Madigan was glad about that, because she’d never met a better man than Sir Broodiness, who wasn’t quite so broody anymore.
Tobias had started teaching women’s self-defense classes at Brock’s gym, and every class was booked solid. Madigan, Carrie, and their friends were taking the classes, too, and she was pretty sure that several of his other students were there because of the studly instructor. But she wasn’t worried. Her man had eyes, among other things, only for her.
She opened the fridge, and as she reached for the eggs, strong hands slid around her from behind, holding her against a very hard, very familiar body.
“Did you shower without me?” Tobias nipped at her neck.
“I wanted to surprise you with breakfast in bed.” She set the eggs on the counter and turned in his arms, her heart fluttering at the lustful look in his loving eyes. He was shirtless, wearing black boxer briefs and a wicked grin.
“Mm.” He leaned down, kissing her slow and deep, grinding his hard length against her belly. He tasted of mint and happiness. He ran his finger along the edge of her towel and gently tugged it off. It puddled at her feet, and those hungry eyes drank her in, making her heart race and her body flame. He made a low, rumbling noise as he backed her up against the counter. “Looks like my Thanksgiving breakfast is served.”
Yes, please.
