Hicks and Ellie came closer so that they could both look at the map that was displayed. They could see a nest of streets to the east of the Medellín River and, on a sharp switchback bend, there were two dots in what appeared to be close proximity to one another.
“This,” Ziggy said, pointing to the dot at the start of the sharp right-hand turn, “is the location of Chase’s phone.” He tapped the second dot, on the apex of the curve. “And this is the location of Milton’s tracker.”
“How much juice does it have left?”
“Three per cent,” he said. “An hour or two, if he’s lucky.”
“What if they move him?” Ellie said.
“We’ve got Chase watching the building.”
“You think he’ll be able to follow?”
“He’d need transport.” He shrugged. “I don’t know.”
“If he can’t follow, and if the tracker dies…” Ziggy started.
“We won’t know where he is,” Hicks said.
Ellie paced the room.
“We have to do something,” Ziggy said.
“I’m thinking,” she said.
“You have backup here?” Hicks said.
“Two troops of SEALs,” she said.
“So tell them where they are,” Ziggy said.
She shook her head. “The Colombians don’t even know we’re here. We can’t drop SEALs into a neighbourhood in the middle of Medellín. La Bruja isn’t going to go quietly. There’ll be a firefight. A massacre.” She shook her head. “We might be able to get some surveillance in place, but we can’t have boots on the ground.”
“So what do we do?”
“I’m not leaving him there,” Hicks said. He stood up and reached for his pistol. “Maybe I should go up there with Chase and we can wait for them to move him.”
“What if they don’t?” Ziggy said. “What if they figure out he isn’t who he says he is? Maybe they make a connection between him going out to the jungle and the SEALs hitting the camp. Maybe they decide to put a bullet in his head.”
“Enough,” Ellie said, hushing him. “Enough. That’s not going to work. We could go up there and wait, but as soon as it gets light, we’ll get made and then they’ll have us, too. No. We can’t do that.”
“We have to do something,” Hicks said.
She pointed at his phone on the table. “Give me that,” she said. “I need to make a call.”

Björn waited until Smith had been marched into the building before he followed inside with Weaver. There was a large industrial space inside, with a group of narcos drinking and playing cards in one corner. They looked up at the two gringos with surly distrust. Björn led the way to a small empty room where they could speak in private.
“Sir?”
“The biometric data you took from Smith raised concerns in London.”
