“Don’t you risk that no matter who you date?”
Reagan shrugged. “I guess.”
“You just won’t know until you try. And since you’ve already tried a little and seemed to enjoy it…”
“Oh yeah,” Reagan replied as she let out a shaky breath.
“Then there ya go. Something’s obviously there. Explore it.”
“Maybe you’re right.”
“I always am,” Gwen said as she hopped off her stool. “Now help me clean up this place and we can get out of here.”
Reagan stood and bumped hips with Gwen as they made their way around the workstation. She’d have to give some thought to Gwen’s words later. Any relationship was a risk, but a relationship with Jill could be much riskier. But high risk meant high reward, right?
Chapter Twelve
“Reagan Murphy,” she answered just as she was packing up for the afternoon. She had been back at work for almost two weeks and she was happy to be getting into the swing of things. Finalizing details for the Jacobs party and making plans for the new restaurant kept her busy and for that, she was grateful.
“Ms. Murphy, this is Maureen Jacobs. I wanted to let you know that we will have an additional fifteen people on our guest list. I’m sure that won’t be a problem. Right?”
Okay, maybe not that grateful, she thought as she held back a groan. “Mrs. Jacobs, I’m sorry, but it’s too late in the game to add that many people. We’ve already put our orders in for the food and everything—”
“You will get this done, Ms. Murphy. I have paid a lot of money for this party and I expect you to meet all my requirements. Will that be a problem?”
“No, ma’am,” she said through gritted teeth. “If you’ll email me their names, meal choices, and where you’d like them to sit, I will add them to the list. I’ll get an invoice together for the additional guests.”
“Fine. Give it to Jillian. She’ll write you a check.”
“I will. Is there anything else I can help you with, Mrs. Jacobs?”
“No.”
