- About the Author
John ran a hand through his hair and grinned at her. She felt breathless, and she leaned against the wall. Two of them could fit in the shower, couldn’t they?
“You okay?” he asked.
Anna nodded. She wanted to tell him everything. It had been so long since she’d had a partner to confide in, someone to trust. John looked at her with kindness, enveloping her in a warmth she hadn’t had in a long time. He gave her a quizzical look.
Footsteps clanged on the stairwell. “Anna, are you up?”
Jenny reached the second-floor landing. Anna tore her eyes away from John.
“We need to talk,” Jenny said. She glanced between Anna and John. “Alone.”

Chapter Thirty
Anna stifled a yawn. “If it’s a problem with today’s schedule, he’ll learn soon enough.”
“It’s not a problem with the schedule,” Jenny said. “I’m not sure who did it, but I can guess.”
Anna pushed herself off the wall. Unfortunately, whether the shower could fit two adults was no longer her most pressing issue. Anna willed herself to wake up.
What was she going to have to deal with today?
“It’s... photos.” Jenny grimaced.
“Cole leaked another article?” Anna couldn’t believe it. How had he found the time, and who was so desperate for copy that they would publish any rumor?
“Not Cole,” Jenny said hesitantly. “Photos of you, from a couple of years ago, from before your divorce.”
There were only certain photos that would cause a problem. The person who had taken them had promised her that he’d deleted them. Nausea rose in her stomach. He couldn’t have...
Anna and Jenny stood in their hotel room, looking at the photos on Jenny’s laptop. She wasn’t sure why they needed privacy. The photos were on the internet, for heaven’s sake. Anna had assured John she was fine. She wasn’t fine. He hadn’t believed her, of course, but he respected her enough to let her deal with this on her own.
Anna’s instincts had been correct. They were the photos from Tom’s phone. They’d been taken during an early morning in their bed. Anna was sleepy-eyed, showing lots of skin. She was surprised the gossip site had posted them. Was she worth this sort of interest anymore? There were much bigger names and much bigger scandals, but she supposed Tom always had a few favors he could call in. As usual, he had impeccable timing. After the set leaks, this story would get picked up by the entertainment press with increased enthusiasm. She resisted Googling her name to find out the response.
“Would anyone else have them?” Jenny asked.
“He said he deleted them. I believed him.”
“I’m going to kill him.”
“We can’t add murder to our crimes,” Anna said. “This movie is punishment enough.”
