Some men prefer to buy from the block; it is very exciting to do so, and the girl, stimulated by the buyers, almost always presents herself well; private sales, of course, allow more intimate inspection of the merchandise (some auction sales, though, it should be noted, maintain exhibition cages with lot numbers, in which the slaves may be observed closely before bid upon. These exhibits take place in the afternoon of the sale; the actual sale takes place at night; naked women on the block, under torchlight, are very beautiful. Some men, incidentally, like to buy from friends or private owners; sometimes exchanging slaves for a trial period. A purchase from a private owner is sometimes less expensive; the slaver’s commission is avoided.
That night, as your new girl serves you, you regard her.
She is not bad. You congratulate yourself. You have made a good buy. She knows that she is your slave; you have taught her that; within moments of entering your house you initiated her to her servitude with the whip; and then, brutally, forced the lesson home with the pounding hammer of your manhood, her abdomen struck, shocked, again and again, reeling under the blows of your weight and power, she holding to you, fingernails unconsciously digging your shoulders, in terror and joy, eyes closed, crying out, surrendering, moaning, gasping, struck, in the helpless submission of the slave female.
You now regard her. She serves you. Women are beautiful beasts. Either you or she will be the master. When she looks at you you see in her eyes that it is you, and will be you, who are the master.
“Kneel beside the table,” you tell her.
She does.
You give her food. She feeds delicately, turning her head to eat from your hand. Her teeth are small and white; her head is very beautiful, and her hair.
You wonder about her. She seems, somehow, different from the others.
You fear that you might begin to care for her. Only a fool, it is said, cares for a slave girl. It is dangerous to do so.
But she seems somehow different, so vulnerable, so fine, so beautiful.
Perhaps later you and she will fall in love. But first she must be slave. No woman understands the meaning of love unless she has first been a conquered slave girl.
Remember, even if you should be fool enough to free her, she may be, promptly and completely, re-enslaved, even sold if you wish. This is a culture in which women are expected to be pleasing to men, not men pleasing to women, as in our own culture.
She looks up at you. Timidly she ties a bondage knot in her hair.
You smile at her. “You will be well used later, Slave,” you tell her.
She smiles. “Thank you, Master,” she whispers.

The price of slave girls, like that of any commodity, varies with supply and demand.
