The touch of Cord’s hand on her forearm snapped her back. Barely hanging on to her composure, she turned to Hal. ‘I need you to dig up Adam Campbell’s address two minutes ago.’

Hal’s fingers flew over his keyboard. ‘Done. Should be showing up on your phone any second now.’

He was still speaking when her phone chimed. ‘You’re the best.’

‘I know, but it’s good to hear other people admit it once in a while.’

The weak attempt at humor glided right over Alyssa’s head. She didn’t know how, or even if, the photos sent to Holly could be linked back to Tony, Adam Campbell, the Kensington murders, or the girls’ disappearance, but she’d move heaven and earth to figure it out.

Snatching her phone off the table, she headed for the door. ‘Cord, Joe, come with me. Hal, Sandra, I need you to find out everything you can about this guy. Something tells me we’re going to find out he’s Alexandra Greene’s half-brother.’

The hair at the back of Alyssa’s nape lifted. Along with the fact that Adam Campbell’s DNA had been discovered at the crime scene was Lynn’s theory that Gabriel’s murderer might have been female or a short male, leading her to the unshakeable realization that they may be looking for two killers.

And while that might answer some of her questions, it didn’t explain how Tony fit into the puzzle. But even worse was knowing that Addis and Emerson could be in the clutches of two psychotic individuals who were clearly unafraid of using violence as a means to an end.

The realization that Adam Campbell’s house was less than a quarter mile from where Holly and her friends lived made Alyssa lightheaded. But she shoved that aside as she climbed the porch. All the blinds were closed, and there was no evidence of lights on anywhere. Her fist hovered in the air as Cord took up residence near a window layered in years of dirt and grime while Joe waited at the side of the house in case someone exited out the back. When everyone was in position, she knocked.
