Firstly, THANK YOU for taking my mentalist phone call the other night. I don’t know what came over me, I just got very overwhelmed on my first night here. I’m not sure how everyone else on my corridor coped so well! I feel really homesick. But it’s only been three days I guess, and I’m so glad you took my call, and reminded me I could just come home if I wanted. I’m going to try and stick it out until at least Christmas. The girls on my floor are actually really nice. We went to this bar crawl last night, which was very intense and busy and sweaty. This girl, Heather, is my favorite so far. She has all these crazy theories about things.

Anyway, thanks again for being there.

Anytime. I’m always here for you. Glad to hear you’re settling in, but also glad to hear you’re missing me. I miss you loads!!!!!!!!!!! Town is so weird without any of you here, but Jade and I are having many adventures before she leaves for York. We got the train to London the other day and got stoned in Hyde Park, and took out one of those rowing boats. Too wasted to row, of course. Just went around and around in tiny circles, laughing too much, and chucking Percy Pigs into the lake because we had a bet about whether or not they could float. (They can’t.) Glad your hall is nice and friendly. You’ll get the hang of it all soon, I promise.

Jessica!!!!

OMG! SO sorry it’s been a while since I’ve emailed. Things are SO CRAZY up here. I take it all back. I love uni! I love Manchester! Everyone is great! I’m having such an amazing time! I just needed to get over the huge shock of it all and now, honestly, it’s so fun, you must come visit, you must APPLY TO MANCHESTER and come next year.

OK OK, so where to start? Right, so my halls are so great. But what’s especially great is this girl called Heather. She’s SO fucking cool. You would love her. She’s a lesbian. She came out to us all last week. Isn’t that cool? Said it’s the first time she’s been out her whole life, even though she says she knows she’s been gay since she was, like, a fetus or something. ANYWAY, she is so smart, Jessica. She’s got all these opinions about boys and girls, and how fucked-up everything is. She wants me to join this “Feminist Soc” with her, but I’m not sure. I told her I don’t wanna burn my bra and not shave my legs and she laughed. We’ll see. It’s all quite interesting.
