- About the Author
I recognized him and was shocked. Since he didn’t bother to speak to me, I immediately assumed that they had a connection. Was he the one who had turned Judi sour to sex? Again, I won’t name any names, but this guy was a real popular football player.
Judi blew his ass off like a scorned woman.
“I’ll talk to you in a minute.”
He looked at me and nodded. “Hey.”
At least he acknowledged me. I guess he had no choice. I didn’t want to speak back to him though. It seemed insignificant, so I just returned his nod as he walked away.
When I met eyes with Judi, she already knew what I was thinking.
“Now how would you feel if I went off with him tonight?” she asked me.
It was a thought. Judi gets the football player, and I get Alex.
“Don’t even answer that,” she told me. I guess she could read my mind.
I cracked a smile. I couldn’t help it.
She said, “I don’t believe you.” I felt like an overgrown kid being scolded by his mother. I knew I was wrong, but I couldn’t stop my thoughts.
Judi said, “Well, it’s not gonna happen; not tonight.”
“What?” I asked her. Was she talking about her and the football player, or me and Alex?
“We came here together, and we’re gonna leave together,” she cleared up for me. That answered both of my questions.
Before I could stop myself, I was already shaking my head in defiance.
“Look, Judi, I understand your situation, I really do. But I’m just not…”
I shook my head again, contemplating the whole celibacy issue. Had it been any woman I knew outside of Judi, I wouldn’t have believed her. But Judi was the kind of woman who meant what she said, every time.
“We need to get away from here,” she told me. The next thing I knew, she was pulling me by the hand.
“What are you doing?” I asked her.
She said, “I’m serious about this, Terrance. Get a grip on yourself.”
I watched Alex turn away, and that did it. Judi had killed the mood. Alex could now determine that it was a bad situation to get involved in. That pissed me off. Judi and I didn’t have a situation.
I waited until Judi got me outside of the club to let her know how I felt. I wasn’t into making scenes. I planned on being stern and discrete in private. So I led her away from the club and in between the parked cars that lined the side streets.
I faced Judi there and let her have it. “Look, had I known you would have had this much of a problem with me having…”
All of a sudden, I stopped and stared forward with my mouth still open. Judi looked to see who or what I was staring at.
It was Andrea, wearing an all-white two-piece with a gold belt and gold shoes. Or was it? I continued to stare to make sure. She was with a girlfriend who wore a similar white outfit, not the exact same one, but close enough. She didn’t look bad from the short distance. I figured she would look busted from what Corey had told me. But she was still shapely and lively.
