“I’m sure you already know the scoop on that. If you got my number, then you already know I’m not with him right now.”

“Right now?” I questioned. Were they planning on getting back together?

She said, “Our divorce is still pending. There’s a whole lot of money and property issues to be worked out, and he still has his two kids from previous relationships to factor in.”

Andrea was being extremely civil for a change, and giving me far more information than I expected or deserved. Since I was on a roll, I asked her, “So now you’ve decided to spend more time with women?”

She chuckled at my insinuation. “Still the same Terrance,” she told me. “You will say whatever’s on your mind.”

“And so do you.”

“Well, yeah, I’m totally at peace with myself now, and I’m extremely satisfied. I don’t have a whole bunch of drama in my life anymore, I’m not chasing things or trying to convince people, and I feel good.”

That blew me away! No wonder she seemed all calm and collected. That lesbian shit turned me on a little, too. I could imagine rolling in the hay with Andrea and her new friend Brazil in a heartbeat.

I said, “Well…what do other people say about it?”

Andrea was an only child with an extended family that she didn’t really deal with too much. She was one of those girls who got out of the house early and dealt with the world on her own terms.

“Who cares what they think? As long as they don’t put their fuckin’ hands on me, I’m good,” she told me.

That was a piece of the Andrea that I was more familiar with, a volatile vixen.

I smiled and chuckled at it. Well, that answered all of my questions. I didn’t know what else to say to her. I knew what I was thinking though.

“So, how long have you been involved with this woman?” I asked her.

“That’s getting a little off the subject, Terrance. Now, you asked me your question, and I’ve answered it. In fact, I’ve given you more than enough answers. So be satisfied with that, because I’m not going into details about my private life. That’s why it’s called ‘private.’ ”

She said, “But I will give you some advice, because I can see that you haven’t changed much.”

Why should I? I thought to myself. I’ve always been satisfied with myself.

She said, “If you’re going to continue to deal with women like you do, then you better learn how to loosen up and give them more of what they want. Now I was pretty generous to you, so I got myself together and moved on, but some of these other girls may become more vengeful if you keep acting like you do toward them.”

I was wondering how she knew.

“What makes you think that I…”

She cut me off and said, “Just like you knew some people around me at the cancer function last night, I knew some people around you. And from what I’ve heard and witnessed for myself, all I can say is that you need to watch yourself. And that’s just one person to another.”
