So many toil away quietly, unseen, to bring books into the world. I recall at a particularly rough point in the writing, I received a note that said, “Belief, like love, is a shaft of light in the darkness. I believe in you.” I’d be neglectful if I didn’t single out the shafts of light who have labored with unending support, and lots of cups of tea, including Marion Jensen, Margot Hovley, John Dursema, Josi Kilpack, Jennifer Moore, Nancy Campbell Allen, Mette Harrison, Christy Monson, Kenneth Lee, Shanna Hovley, Steven Jensen, my ever-faithful writers group, and my parents, Garald and Eileen Anderson.

And finally to my children, Brady and Kate. I wrote this story for you: first, last, and always. You taught me about love, and you have my whole heart.
