After dashing out of the way, he turned to see Liu glow a neon green as her Chi began to circle around her. Lucas had never fought her, so he didn’t know her skill well enough to judge how long this charging phase would take. In the end, he decided to risk it. He waited for half a second and then began channeling Wind Wall at her back. The powerful gust struck before Liu began her charge, and Lucas watched as the wind propelled her forward into a sprint. The neon green Chi shrouding her transformed from a weak aura to a dazzling blaze so bright that her skin and armor became indiscernible through its radiance.

“You’ve failed again, you worthless woman,” Lagrand taunted. An Ice shield floated down between him and Liu, dooming her attack to strike the wall he had crafted.

Lucas summoned a chain of Scorching Skulls to chase after Lagrand in case Liu’s rapier assault failed.

When Liu hit the icy barrier at full speed, the wall shattered into pieces with a loud snapping sound that echoed throughout the chamber. Lucas watched Lagrand’s expression change to one of shock and then complete horror as Liu’s rapier pierced through his chest and directly into one of his lungs.

“You’re . . . still . . . going . . . to be . . . fired,” Lagrand said, dropping his tome of cheat spells and doing his best just to breathe.

“I think I’ll just have to report this boss kill,” Lucas said.

Lagrand’s eyes opened even wider in disbelief as he turned toward Lucas only to find a Scorching Skull directly in front of his face. The first, second, third and fourth skulls struck in rapid succession, leaving Lagrand with no way to stop them. The perverted man roared in shock and anger and then fell silent. A moment later, his corpse started to turn into ash, and all that was left was Liu’s rapier, still jammed right through his charred ribs.
