Abby wondered how Nic could be so casual about it all. But then, why not? Nic was only the fake girlfriend. At least Nic hadn’t lost sight of that, even if she had. She pulled her phone out.
“You want to see her picture?”
Nic hesitated just a moment, then nodded. “Sure.”
Chapter Thirty-seven
Nic kissed her way down Abby’s smooth skin, relishing the taste of her. It was their last night together and she wanted to make it memorable. Truth was, she was trying to memorize the feel, the taste, the sight of Abby’s body.
Abby moaned quietly as she nibbled at the hollow of her hip. Every night had been an adventure into drawing out as much pleasure as possible while still keeping in mind that Aaron and Holly were sleeping just across the hall. She smiled against Abby’s skin, imagining her screaming out without care as she climaxed.
“Why are you smiling?”
She lifted her head, trying to see Abby’s eyes in the darkness. “I was picturing us in bed without people next door.”
Abby’s hand touched her face, gently caressing her cheek. “That would be nice, wouldn’t it?”
“Mmm,” she murmured as she bent her head lower.
Abby’s hips raised up to meet her mouth and as her tongue circled her clit, Abby’s quiet moan sent chills across Nic’s body. She cupped Abby’s thighs, lifting her legs and pressing her hard against her face. She wanted to devour her as Abby writhed beneath her, her moans louder now.
“God…Nic.”
Hands held her face tightly, bringing her even closer, and Nic got lost in the pleasure she was giving to Abby—a pleasure that ended all too soon as Abby turned her face into her pillow to stifle her scream. She rested her cheek against Abby’s thigh, eyes closed. A few moments later, Abby’s fingers brushed through her hair, but she said nothing.
Nic finally raised her head, moving back up to lay beside Abby. They both sighed at the same time.
“Gonna be a long drive tomorrow,” Abby said quietly.
“We can take turns. Driving and sleeping.”
Abby rolled toward her, resting one arm across her waist. “What will you do when you get home? Do you have to go to work right away?”
“On Monday, yes. Uncle Jimmie was in Vegas over the break. He texted me two days ago, I think it was—when he got back. He’s anxious to get the crews back out. This time of year, it’s mostly maintenance and clearing out dead plants and stuff, though. Our workdays are much shorter. Some days I’ll leave the office by noon.”
“What do you do then?”
“I try to hit the gym every day. If the weather’s good, I’ll take a run outside.”
“I hate to run.”
