Nic felt a sense of relief as she held Abby’s hand and headed up the stairs. She paused at the landing, looking back down. It was picture perfect, wasn’t it? The crackling fire, the carolers gathered around the piano, Bill wearing a red elf hat as he played. Then Holly turned, glancing up at them. In the brief moment that their eyes held, Nic saw regret in them and perhaps even jealousy. Jealous because Holly knew exactly what she and Abby were about to do. And regret? Maybe Holly was second-guessing her decision to leave Abby for Aaron. Most likely, yes, although she couldn’t possibly see Abby and Holly together. They had no chemistry whatsoever.

Abby tugged her along, and she pushed thoughts of Holly from her mind. She pushed the whole Christmas scene away too as the door closed behind them.

Chapter Twenty-nine

When Nic closed the door, Abby turned, feeling a little embarrassed now. It was the first second they’d had alone since the…well, since the scene in the back seat. Scene? Was that a good word? She smiled, remembering the “scene” vividly. Nic smiled too and moved closer to her.

“Did you enjoy the tour of lights?”

Abby laughed quietly. “Very much. Did you?”

“I did.” Nic touched her cheek softy, running her index finger along her jawline. “Wonder how I’m going to pay you back for that?”

Abby swallowed. “If you need some suggestions, I can think of a few.”

Nic spun them around, pushing Abby back against the door. “I can think of a few too.”

Abby stood still as Nic’s fingers unbuttoned her jeans, then slid them down her thighs. Nic’s kiss was slow and very thorough, leaving her nearly panting when she drew away. Then Nic smiled at her before dropping to her knees. Oh dear lord, she thought as she leaned her head back. Nic’s hands parted her thighs, and her eyes slammed shut when Nic’s mouth covered her. She nearly whimpered as Nic’s tongue cut through her wetness, circling her clit several times before sucking it into her mouth. She felt her head thump against the door as she moaned, and she grasped Nic’s shoulders with her hands to steady herself.

Nic gripped her from behind, holding her tightly to her mouth as her tongue continued to tease her clit. She felt her knees go weak and she gave in to her orgasm, climaxing hard as her hips jerked against Nic’s face. She may very well have collapsed if Nic hadn’t stood and held her, still pressing her back against the door.
