‘The FBI said he fits the geographic location and age range of the killer, and DNA proves the killer is definitely from the Dominio family line. There aren’t many men still alive who fit those characteristics but the real kicker is,’ I paused, figuring out how to best word what I had to say next, ‘Mom, one of the reasons I haven’t said anything is because I’ve gotten some details that are not public. So you can’t say anything to anyone, otherwise you might ruin the investigation. You can’t tell anyone, you have to promise. I’m not supposed to say anything but I really need to talk this out.’
My mom looked to the side and then nodded her head. ‘Lizzie, I can’t keep this from your dad. He’s not home right now, or I’d have him come hop on and hear it from you himself, but I have to tell him.’
‘Well, I kind of figured that but neither of you can tell anyone else.’ My mom nodded her head. ‘The murdered women all had traces of ketamine in their system. It’s a drug heavily used by veterinarians, and obviously with Cris being a vet that’s a big red flag. But today when I went out there, I started noticing all this other stuff. The profile says the killer is extremely meticulous and methodical. Mom, you should have seen his office. Everything was aligned with such precision and his pens were organized by color. He also had the same plastic bins in the garage that they’ve described in the paper that the women’s bodies were discovered in. And the journalist told me the killer would have a job that has him traveling a lot on weekends, and Cris does that too.’ Suddenly another clue popped into my head, my body tensing. ‘Mom, the journalist also said the killer would probably be good with technology. There was a microwave with all its wires exposed in Cris’s garage and he said he was fixing it. I know that isn’t the same but he is clearly savvy with electronics so who knows what other technology he’s good with, you know?’
My mom’s face went white. ‘Have you told any of this to the FBI, Liz? This is not something you should be investigating yourself, it’s too dangerous.’
