  25. About the Author

“The one with shoulders the size of a tank?” Megan asked. She remembered Brendon going off with the huge bloke on a Friday evening a few months ago. She and Georgie had taken a cab home from Ritzy’s soon after he’d disappeared into the darkness and they hadn’t seen him all weekend. If she remembered rightly, Brendon had had a smile as wide as a Cheshire cat’s all week and a lot of sexting had gone on between him and the mystery bloke for several days.

“Yes, that’s the one,” Brendon said, then frowned. “Shame he neglected to tell me he already had a boyfriend. A city bloke who was in Dubai on business.”

“What a git,” Georgie said.

“You never told us that bit.” Megan’s heartstrings tugged for Brendon. He got plenty of action but his heart was always left bruised.

“What was the point?” Brendon shrugged. “It was a few nights of fun, pretty damn hot fun, but that’s all it was ever going to be. I’m lucky in the bedroom but unlucky in love.”

“It won’t always be that way.” Megan pressed her hand over his. “There is someone out there who is perfect for you.”

“Yes, you just have to keep looking,” Georgie said. She held up her hand and the sunlight caught on her engagement ring. “Then you’ll find the right man, like I have.”

“I know.” Brendon laughed. “But I’m having a great time looking. Trying them all on for size, so to speak.”

Megan giggled and sat back on the sofa. Her friends always made her feel better even if they couldn’t always come up with solutions to her problems or undo her mistakes.

“So did you make a start on my shoe design?” Georgie asked, also sitting on a soft chair and crossing her legs.

“Your bridal ones?”

“Of course.” Georgie grinned. “What else?”

“Yes, I was thinking about ninety millimetres for the heel. That way you won’t get any aches from being in them all day and dancing all night. Plus, even if you have a big veil or something, you’ll still be shorter than Tom.”

“That sounds fine. I couldn’t walk in some of the super-high heels you wear.”

“Sure you could. You just need to decide between ivory and cream satin then I’ll get some samples for you to look at.”

“Ha, go for cream satin, no way can our Georgie wear white.”

“Hey.” Georgie play-tapped Brendon around the head. “Watch it, or you won’t be a bridesmaid.”

Brendon’s expression changed. “What?”
