- About the Author
He pulled her to him, turning them both over in a swift move. She straddled him as he leaned against the back of the truck. He gripped her hair tightly in his fist, angling her head so he held her right where he wanted, kissing her.
She braced herself against the back of the cab, hands on either side of his head as he undid her belt buckle. Her breath came in short gasps. She closed her eyes at the sensation. It shouldn’t feel this good, the way he bucked his hips to give her friction, the way his breath fanned her skin, or the way the world narrowed to just the two of them. None of it should have felt as good as it did.
“Look at me,” he whispered, unzipping her jeans.
But she couldn’t—it was too much. If she opened her eyes, she would be admitting that to himself and her.
His hand roamed lower. “Please, look at me.”
Anna opened her eyes. She didn’t think she’d ever seen anything so wonderful in her life as the way he looked at her.
He claimed her mouth in a kiss as a reward and moved his hand again, applying gentle pressure as he followed what she liked and what would get her there... or almost there. He was turning out to be a terrible tease.
Anna grinned and kissed his neck.
“Ah, stop distracting me.”
“Yes, sir,” she drawled.
John sucked in a breath.
Well, well. Anna leaned in close, lips hovering above his ear. “We’re learning all kinds of things, aren’t we?”
“Only if you’re good.” He chuckled, and he removed his hand.
“John,” she whined.
He moved himself from under her, shushing her. She wanted to be offended, but he’d dropped off the back of the truck and was unlacing his boots. She couldn’t complain about that. He could accomplish anything when he put his mind to it. Before she could take in the full view of him, she yelped as he pulled her gently down to the end of the truck. He unlaced her boots, biting his lip in concentration in the darkness. He yanked down her jeans, and she shimmied out of them. Before she had time to think about being undressed in front of him, he unzipped his jeans and pulled them off his body. He stood, unselfconscious—why would he be?—in his boxer briefs.
Oh no, she thought. “Do you have condoms?”
He tilted his head, smiling at her confusion. “Didn’t think you would get lucky?”
“I mean, I was hoping...” She huffed.
He held up his hand before shuffling among their clothes on the ground, fishing through his jean pockets.
“You’re like a Boy Scout.”
He held up the condom with a grin. “Not like.”
