A metallic clanging suddenly blares through the parking lot, surprising me so much that I jump and kick over the coffee on the ground.
“Shit!” I scream. “What is that?”
“That’s the bell,” Sean says, grinning at my mini-freak out. “I’ve got to head to class.” He looks down, and suddenly that red is back in his cheeks. He’s in a tank top and his swim outfit, something that looks an awful lot like the underwear folded neatly in a drawer back in the bungalow. They show off his thighs even more than his shorts, and I can’t help but notice a distinct bulge in them too. The heat rising through my body must be strong enough for Sean to feel because he positions his blue bag in front of his swimsuit and backs up a few steps. “I better run and change before homeroom. See you around. This afternoon, maybe? Text me if you need any ideas of something to do.”
“Will do,” I say, taking a deep breath to help get my mind away from Sean’s body and back to the plan. Dominic was jealous, clearly upset that Sean and I were talking. And if I can just pull on Dominic’s territorial instincts, I think he’ll be paying Sean a lot of attention.
I know just what I need to do.
I’m going to find Sean a new boyfriend.
Sean
Ross grabs their spilled coffee cups, turns, and jogs out of the parking lot in a caffeine-fueled frenzy. I’ve got to channel their energy, run to the locker room, and get changed fast or I’m going to be late to my first class. But as soon as I make it to the pool gate, Dominic is right behind me. Being this close is enough to make me want to throw up but also smoosh my lips against his in a desperate attempt to make him remember how much he used to love kissing me.
D motions with his chin over my shoulder. He’s always been so good at being the cool guy, saying as few words as possible and using his body to communicate. He’s silent and sexy and seeing him face-to-face again, just us, after two weeks of not seeing him like this is doing all kinds of wonderful and awful things to my body.
“Who was that?” he asks.
