Who are you looking for? -- asked the guard in an unfriendly tone.

I’m a friend of Princess Odai’s.

Princess Odai doesn’t live here anymore. She lives in town -- barked the guard.

But...

I’m going to have to ask you to leave the premises -- he went on, without letting me speak. This is private property.

Isn’t this Prince Charming’s castle?

I can’t answer your questions, sir. Please leave the premises at once.

How long ago did the Princess move away?

The guard went inside the gate and without saying a word, he closed it.

The Writer was perplexed.

Having no other choice and nothing left to do there, the Writer went into town to look for the Princess. He searched the streets high and low, asked around in a couple of places, stopped many people on the street, but nobody knew anything about Princess Odai or her dragon. The only thing everybody knew was that she didn’t live in the castle anymore.

I don’t know why, but I felt my heart beating fast in my chest as I heard:

To all those present in life on such day of such moth of such year. -- I could hear the very familiar and welcome sound of a clearing throat. I turned around and there he was... as always... reading his parchment. -- If Bonsai The Guardian is standing in the middle of town with his golden ceremonial suit; if he is standing on his wooden stool with the red velvet seat and he is also reading this parchment, it will be very important to check if Princess Odai is with the Writer. -- Bonsai lowered the parchment and looked at me. If Bonsai continues to read this parchment, it can be unequivocally concluded that.... -- he stopped. He looked dismal. -- I can’t. -- He put the parchment down and looked at me. -- It saddens me, Writer. You need to go to her.

Do you know where she is?

Yes, -- he said with deep sadness and sorrow -- I know everything. Haven’t you noticed? -- He raised the parchment and, leaving his sadness behind, kept on reading. -- I, Bonsai The Guardian certify such an event. And with the power vested in me by The Law of Life, written in The Great Book of Life, under article three thousand two hundred and four, -- he took a breath -- I decree and order that the Writer must look for her. The law has spoken.

He rolled up the parchment, stepped down from his stool and picked it up... thought for a moment, put the stool back on the ground and climbed up again. This time he didn’t unfold the parchment.
