They walked deep into the woods, leaving behind the clearing and The Cave of the Past, where Pia will probably sing her beautiful song again for some other brave soul to rescue their inner child from the past.

A long time went by. They walked for hours in the moonlight. It was late, but the Princess was not tired and for some reason the Dragon hadn’t complained... at all.

I don’t know what’s happening to me, but I don’t feel so afraid today.

They walked a while longer, and then stopped to rest under a tree; the Dragon immediately fell into a deep sleep. The Princess had been silent since they had started walking, and so the Writer wondered what the Princess was thinking.

…
…
…

The Princess was lost in her thoughts... What could she be thinking about?

…
…
…

Either the Princess was really deep in thought or she was blatantly ignoring the Writer.

…

The Dragon was snoring VERY loudly. And I was still wondering: WHAT COULD THE PRINCESS BE THINKING ABOUT?

Oh, sorry... Were you saying something, Writer?

I was shouting something, Princess!

Oh, I didn’t hear you.

I noticed. What’s on your mind?

Oh, so many things... I’m thinking about the time I’ve wasted being scared, and about the times I didn’t believe in myself and the thousands of times I didn’t trust life. Do you know why I locked myself in the castle?

Why?

Because I was afraid to live. I’m going to tell you a part of my story that you don’t know. I never thought that my childhood was terrible. I always thought I had everything clear, that I had everything under control, even the few problems that I had considered important... or at least that’s what I thought. But when I found myself in The Cave of the Past, my inner child told me things that she had thought about, things that she had gone through, but just as she had experienced them in their moment. It was surprising to realize all that I decided to forget. And, by remembering, I’m starting to feel that I know myself a little bit better and I understand why I’ve done everything I’ve done until now.

And how does that make you feel?

I... I don’t know. I still haven’t gotten there yet.

Aren’t you tired?

I can’t sleep. There are thousands of thoughts flowing through my mind. I’m happy but sad, and anxious. There are thousands of emotions coming from my heart.

Try to get some sleep, Princess.

How?

The Writer remembered a poem he had written some time ago, but since he doesn’t intend to use this story to publish his poetry, he will only recite a few verses for the Princess because he feels like she really needs them.

... ...

Oh...

What?

I originally wrote it Spanish so... I’m gonna try to translate it.
